Thanks. Yeah, slower than most, but I liked it. How did you like the key changes?

I’m very glad you’re still making these jam videos. Seems like I could do what you’re doing so I ‘m inspired!

Thank you! I’m sure you can. It just takes time to learn what works for you, so the best is to keep it fun and simple. Otherwise it gets frustrating and that is not motivating at all 😊

Heerde will see a glowing aura around your home every time you jam so happily. The vocals worked very well, and the music was a treat. Do not give up on that 707, your workflow around it is good.

Thanks Rich. We'll see what happens. For now I'm only thinking of options, not something serious. I do want to add more sample stuff in my workflow, so that might call for some addition or replacement.

@@tricks-and-tips I am eager to hear what you will decide, but so far everything is already very enjoyable so threat carefully.

@@rayderrich Yeah, never change a winning team. I have a couple of options, but all have pros and cons. (sounds like life right) Right now my XR18 has 2 inputs and 2 outputs 'free'. That is one limitation. The second limitation is that I have no space left, apart from the upper level, which could house a small desktop synth / sampler / fx pedal. The third one is time and money and complexity. Adding 'another thing' will add more complexity, cost money and also a lot of time, all of those things I'd like to avoid. My idea is that I would love to do something with samples. I'm not sure how, but I'll figure that out. There is a couple of options that I have without getting a bigger interface. 1. Torso S-4 sampler (looks like a good candidate) for recording stuff and playing it back. I'm not sure if it will fit my style of working, but the main thing is that it has 'total recall' so I can continue working on a project later on. I would give that both a send and return from the interface, so I can route anything through it. Downside is that it is quite expensive, still in sort of a beta firmware, not available now and I'm not sure if it fits my way of working (I have to adapt, I know, but still) But it looks promising as it seems to have the kind of FX and sample mangling stuff I'm looking for . 2. Another option would be either an MPC or a Digitakt 2. Where (again) both have pros and cons. The Digitakt 2 might be able to replace the 707, although the 707 is more versatile, so I'm not sure. I could keep both, as I have the 2 inputs and outputs free, but it would be a much more complicated setup. The MPC seems to be tailored (even more) towards sample chopping. Something I'm not doing right now, as it is not working for me on the 707. Too fiddly. Then again, the 707 is much more performance oriented (live jamming) compared to both of these. So I will have to see about that. 3. The last option is to add one or more FX pedals and put that between an instrument and the interface (insert FX). The OTO Boum for example. Or maybe something like the Chase Bliss Bloom (which is against my principle of total recall, so that probably won't happen) Lots of 1st world things to think about.

@@tricks-and-tips I wish I could give you a definitive tip to head for, but these are a lot of decisions you will have to make. Digitakt II on your last free ins and outs sounds sensible and performance oriented enough if you are willing/find the time to learn Elektrons workflow. That would leave the 707 in the setup and would add sampling (although MPC has better workflow for that, but do you reall want to add an entire workstation to your setup?). I would not break your winning team as you rock with it, but adding the sampling and growing your palette sounds great.

@@rayderrich Thanks. It will be a matter of trying it out. I'm watching content on all the options and try to make an educated guess before buying :)

I like the syncopation by the ghost kicks in the beginning! Some nice ratchets in the second part. The third part, the vocal reminded me of Enigma (which I really like!) Nice jam!

I struggle with vocals as well.. It's hard enough to "Say" something with the instruments .....

Absolutely. Fortunately it's a lot of fun trying to succeed, so I don't mind the 'struggle' :)
