I realized that when you said "I had no idea" when Angelica mentioned that she was 7 years kidney strong that you hadn't researched her back story. So, a little background on this extraordinary young girl. First, she is a sepsis and kidney transplant survivor. Her near-death experience and living on dialysis for 1 1/2 years before she was six years old has given her a great appreciation for life and a lifelong commitment to help children and people with kidney disease. She's the first Kid Ambassador for the National Kidney Foundation and has produced numerous public information videos for them. She's a celebrity advocate for the Sepsis Alliance and wrote and recorded the anthem for their "It's About TIME" information campaign (yes, she is a singer/songwriter). And she has performed at many charity events in support of the Children's Miracle Network (where she became good friends with Marie Osmond and Mark Cuban). She has performed for President Bush and three First Ladies, and she has performed two times for the United Nations. She was part of the entertainment at a private event for the NFL owners during the Atlanta Superbowl and she said that the first person up from the floor to the stage to talk to her was John Legend (explains why she is invited to perform at so many NFL games). Last year Talent Recap posted a where-is-she-now video titled "What Ever Happened To Angelica Hale?" that gives a good overview of what she's been doing since AGT. In her first AGT audition she said that she wanted to be a superstar and she's well on her way to achieving that goal.

Thanks for reacting to Angelica's 4th of July performance of Adele's "Easy on Me." Let me start by saying that I agree with most of what you said about Angelica's voice and performance. But recognize that she is still only 14 years old here (her birthday is July 31). So where to start? First off, she has a very expressive face and sometimes it does appear that she's over doing it. Some of that may come from being a trained actor. She's been doing voice acting for two Disney series (T.O.T.S. and Chuggington) for a couple of years and her first feature film -- a musical comedy titled "American Reject" was released back in April. Shortly before this performance she returned from New York City where she workshopped David Foster's new Broadway musical "Betty Boop's Day Off." And The Atlanta Opera just announced that she has a "trouser role" in their next production. She has told us that she practices for about two weeks for a performance so some of her gestures and expressions may be rehearsed and not spontaneous. But she is the first to acknowledge that she needs to continue to improve. She went to acting camp this past summer and started working with a new vocal coach (Cheryl Porter) to continue to improve her voice. Right before COVID she went back to dance classes and was seen working with the choreographer for the Broadway musical. I agree that, if she continues on her current trajectory, she will be an entertainer that we will have the pleasure of hearing and watching for many years to come.

Angelica has many videos way before she starter even taking singing lessons, her emotions and movements are natural in her, she has a story that makes her connect with songs in a special way. Remember, she was out on the open with the wind, noise of the audience and other factors. But all her expressions and everything else is all her. Tell me how to make requests and I'll walk you thru it. you said that you didn't know about her kidney, that is probably the number one reason why she is so into the songs, she is singing her life with every song she sings, full of hurdles but so many victories, as Ms. Cheryl Potter said, Angelica Hale is the epitome of no excuses. How do I make requests?

I think her hand movements are expressions of her emotions because she sings emotionally, its not acting.

Keep in mind if you didn't already know, she only has about 80% use of one of her lungs due to her time in the hospital at the age of 4 where she got double pneumonia and she ended up with Sepsis which caused her to go into a coma. She was kept on life support for a few days during this. She will likely always have some difficulty with breath control because of it and yet despite that history, she still sounds amazing with her breath control. She practices so hard. She has been working a little bit with Cheryl Cole on breath control so she is bound to get better as Cheryl seems to be a very good vocal coach. She is certainly pretty well known. If you get a chance, you might take a look at her hospital story to get more information about it, even if you don't react to it, it'll help you understand some of what you are seeing I think. Another thing Cheryl has been working with her on is not using her hands so much during her performance so she puts Angelica in boxing gloves to learn how to sing without using the hand motions so much. Nice reaction by the way. I look forward to more of your reactions to her.

You may watch Angelica video on her hospital story. She got a kidney transplant from her mother when she was six years old. She also ends up with a scared lung. She has had a ruff time with illness, but has over come it.i wonder if she was close to tears. This song relates some what to hospital stay.

I've watched Angelica since she was 9 on AGT. That was 2017 so that would make her 14 now. Vocally, the high watermark for me is Angelina Jordan, but Angelica has such a warm and embracing presence on stage that she is a joy to watch, moreso than many, even established performers today.

I'm Angelica fan - she's 15 since July. Agree her stage presence + feeling in every song she performs. Personally I like round tone quality of Angelica's voice. Angelina different style with range + power & soulful delivery. Much more ahead for both, as they grow and mature. I'm in awe their work & commitment to their craft - each loving what they do!

Thanks for reacting to Angelica! Age 15 this performance. Backup piano track accompaniment is her, previously recorded from her "Easy on Me" home studio performance. (Suggest you check it out). BTW, picture her here this performance. It's just her, on open outdoor stage, after dark with a breeze blowing. Her audience is scattered somewhere below her in picnic-like setting. Its just her and her piano track, but sound systems in every venue are different. She must balance her vocals with her piano track, through this particular sound system and deliver open-air, out to her audience. Angelica has previously performed in a number of outdoor settings/setups. A lot of skill to put out a great in-the-moment performance! Every one an opportunity for her, doing what she loves to do - and she will only get better! Keep listening! BTW#2, About age 10, I watched one of her outdoor performances where the sound system cut-out in the middle of the song. Angelica just kept on rolling and didn't miss a beat. The sound then came then back on, she picked it up, and finished the performance!
