The Guardian still is by far. But this cool as well. A very small but awesome window in the real heroes of the high seas. Guys jump into the Bering sea in February to possibly rescue a living person but chances are probably not. One recuse diver gave his spot on a Jayhawk up to a person in the water that would be gone otherwise in hopes that when that got back he was still kicking but not knowing as well. He described the sound of the Jayhawks flying off was the weirdest feeling he'd ever have. Then nothing but cold & darkness with a wind gusts.

Master Chief, quick question, is it smarter to put in for HITRON second tour out of A-School, or first?
@josephadams73797 ай бұрын
@@Myusernameweak I would say second. Get some maintenance experience first, and some SAR cases under your belt. HITRON does not do SAR, especially if you want to be a Flight Mechanic, because all HITRON has are Basic Aircrew and Aerial Gunners. Get a taste of an actual SAR unit first, then make that decision. If you have aspirations of becoming a Gunner, it's a hand picked group, and you'll have to complete a very intensive, (physically & mentally) Sniper School.

That was awesome. Being a former Coastie flying on the MH-65 Dolphin as a crew chief. They are an amazing Heli. I was part of the transition team when we migrated from the old Sikorsky HH-52A Seaguard helicopter. They've come a long ways in tech and avionics and unfortunately they didn't have that MOS to shoot from them back then. :). Thanks for sharing the experience. I can also confirm joining the US Coast Guard was a highlight of my life and things I've done. I would highly recommend anyone interested in joining to do so and get into the Aviation division for sure. So much fun.

Most of us Utahns that grew up here began the familiarity in single digit ages. Boys and girls. I'm 41, and we still took guns to school in the back glass in our trucks in highschool. It was normal. We all hunted, fished, and target practiced regularly. It's just part of our childhood. It's not like that here as much anymore. Very little, unless in a small town
