This week I have hired a crew to take down a month's worth of work. These walls are built to last 200 years and they are not coming down easily.
Be sure to tune in next Sunday, June 11 2023, for my first LIVE KZbin event. I'll be talking about the renovation, being a Boomer KZbinr and many other topics concerning my life in Greece. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have so tune in at 19:00 (Greek time).
Thanks for watching and thanks for hitting the Like button, Subscribing and being sure to also hit the notification bell so KZbin knows you want to follow along on my Old House Renovation project.
Health & Happiness to all.

So sorry you have to go through this utter waste, and change the whoe plans too. What is wrong with people, why do they have to create such hardship and heartache? You are so courageous Marcy, well done!!!

Just stumbled upon your videos. What a find! I am a British expat living in Glyfada, Attica. Been here 14years and my dream is to escape to Tzia. I feel in love with it last year and have visited twice so far with my kids. Thanks for posting your trials and tribulations x

Cement mon amour. Greek houses last for ever and mostly are once-in-a-lifetime projects. Compare with the USA where houses are brought down in one day and often with the strength of a single man with using a jigsaw ... is mind blowing!

Yep. As I wrote in the video description - I built these walls to last 200 years. Little did I know they would be coming down so soon.

Hello from New Zealand Marcie. I discovered your channel a month ago and I am hooked. I am actually looking at relocating to Greece . I've heard of the Golden Visa scheme but I want to be able to work. I am an aeronautical engineer and would love to work in that field possible in Greece . I want to purchase a property on the island of Crete as my grandfather fought and died on the island in WWII. Any help or advice you can give would be greatly appreciated 🤗

Thanks for watching! I don't know much about the Golden Visa program but I do not think it prohibits one from working. This program will not last forever so I would make the move within the next few years. I will be hosting my 1st KZbin Live event next Sunday at 19:00 Greek time and hope you can join.

Greece is a paradise to live iif you have no financial worries. It is a great place to spend money, but not to earn it. Greece’s economy is based on “services”, taxation, trade and tourism. Industry, let alone cutting edge technology, are in a embryonic stage, currently. If you have built a good “pillow” and you do not have to earn a living, then go for it. If you are ready to reorientate and start your own business, which would fit in the local economic matrix, like Marcie did, you can try it as well. In your field it would be difficult to find something relevant on Crete. It would be great if you came to Greece and shared your knowledge, experience and potential, but Attica would be the place for your profession. The salary may schock you though. Having said that, as an optimistic Greek, I hope that progress will accelerate and we will soon not solely depend on tourism, agriculture and dealerships and will be able to provide adequate employment to people with your skills. P.S: Much gratitude 🙏 to your Grandfather.

@@user-yf9yz5jj9j Greece sounds alot like NZ we rely heavily on tourism here and the hourly rate for wages is $22.50 p/h. Like Greece if you have money NZ is an amazing place to live ,raise a family etc but if you live from pay cheque to pay cheque life is very hard .

Dear Marcie this video is so sad! As for your gardening why didn't you use this pile of grass that you threw away either for compost or mulch?
@lifeingreece
@lifeingreece Жыл бұрын
If weeds are used for mulch you just get more weeds! When the back garden is accessible I’ll start a compost pile!

@@lifeingreece Dear Marcie I was going to correct my comment because on such a horrible day the last thing you would care is whether or not to dispose of your pile of waste grass!😞
