I bought an ABANDONED building in GREECE - 1st 2 YEARS

Welcome to the first narrated COMPILATION of my Old Stone House Restoration. Follow along as I talk about the ups and downs of completely renovating a 110 year old abandoned building. I can't believe I am the SOLE CONTRACTOR on this project and I had almost forgotten just how much work we have done. Good grief. Im half way through you story and am so impressed. I have so often wanted to do what you're doing and in fact in Greece, but.....time has overtaken me. Living in France the closet I've got and I love it but not quite perfect. Many congrats and will keep up with your adventure.

Four: The level part of your roof (which in Greek is called "tara'tsa") you can join through a waterpipe to a water tank, where you can store rain water. That was a practice very much needed in dry islands of the Aegean. They used that water for irrigation and washing but drank spring water. I believe that Lavrio is also an arid land...Five: I AM very sorry for your accidents and I believe this project not only is dangerous for you but also strenuous for your health. Anyway I know that you deal with it as as a challenge and this is why I admire you! Six: I am also, VERY sorry that you have to put down the roof brick walls and I understand that it would take you an exceedingly costly legal struggle to find your rights, when TWO authorities (the archaelogical and the local adiminstration) approved of your building project and ONE turned it down. And finally! I don't think you should have your computers (wifi and all) in your bedroom, because of the radiation.X

Thanks for your valued input! Water containment is certainly a high priority. Having lived in the Cyclades for 20 years has taught me to cherish every drop of H2O. I will be having my 1st Livestream on Sunday June 11 at 19:00 (Greek time) and hope you'll join.

Great effort. What will you do instead where you have to take out the recent brickwork? Something similar or was the problem that your neighbour didn’t like it? She seems to have some sway locally. Hopefully they’ll realise soon that your improving the landscape and that will be great for everyone.

I hope you aren't going to use electrical underfloor heating. On the long term will cost u a ton of money. You have many openings (windows, doors) and the old walls aren't insulated at all. Look for a underfloor heating system with water pipes connected to a heat pump. Much more efficient.
