Sorry that poor Tucker had to have surgery, but I'm happy he's recovering well. There is nothing like a tail duster...a Retriever's tail just never stops! My heart just melts each time I look at their gorgeous faces. You are so very lucky to have these 2 handsome boys...cherish them always.

Hope your good boy is back to himself soon! I know how you feel about not trusting vets. Our Tucker had a lump on his hip and the vet said "it's just a fatty tumor." When we finally insisted it be removed, turns out it was a mast cell tumor, which is malignant, and they didn't get it out clean. We lost him a couple of years later. Luckily there is an amazing veterinary oncologist in our town who gave him a few more years of a good life.

Must be the time for surgeries. Layla the boxer is in her donut, tucker is in the cone of shame and my Baylee is just coming off restrictions this Friday. She had a little of both going on. She had two lumps removed (benign) and one broken molar removed just like Tucker man. I hear ya on the no bones thing. We are in the same boat. Lots of hugs sent for Tucker for a quick recovery. So glad to see his duster wagging at the end.

Trazodone works great for dogs to chill. You could give tucker it and he won't be able to itch. (I have a 98 lb pure male golden retriever) works amazing on him. He just had surgery to remove a big skintag.

My family have had VERY unfortunate circumstances due to veterinarian's and assistants that didn't know what they were doing and boy does it give you PTSD. With my Golden Retriever Sammy who crossed the Rainbow Bridge at 13 years and 3 months old on 6/13/19, I denied certain recommendations for meds/treatments and found my own natural alternatives that helped so much more with no side effects. We should be able to trust our furbabies doctor. I understand your anger 100%. I do know that you're an excellent Mom and will still make Tucker happy with whatever you give him as a special treat even if its no bully sticks or bones. Prayers from myself and my family here in Connecticut for a speedy recovery!🙏🐾♥️

We just had our golden retrievers teeth cleaned today under anesthesia as well. Like Tucker he got up. Excited wanting to go. Bye-bye only to find out he’s going to the vet to go under anesthesia and get his teeth cleaned again he’s eight years old. We have them cleaned every six months under anesthesia. He’s a fast plaque builder even though he gets his teeth brushed.

Count your blessings. Toward the end of my boy, Handsome Sam’s life, it was so hard to get him to eat. I actually resorted to buying him Porterhouse steaks because he wouldn’t eat anything else! Of course, he was worth it, because it was a relief to watch him eat, but losing him broke my heart. Still not over it!
