So happy I am the same boat with my knee and it’s brutally annoying. Knowing I’m not alone is awesome and taking time off is always better than pushing it. Thanks for always being an awesome motivation and so REAL.

You got this bro! We're in it together hahah. Just stay up on the stretching and knee strengthening exercises.

I’m also not a fan of tracking calories, but since I’ve started ramping up the weekly volume I’ve been feeling low energy and just struggling through sessions. I decided to track a few typical days of eating and exercise, short story long I was in a massive calorie deficit, I started eating more whole foods and matching the in vs out and I feel great. The opposite obviously applies here! Maybe give it a go just to see what you’re consuming vs burning?

Thanks for sharing! I know I'm doing things right with the eating regimen and new workout plan

It could be a bit of muscle but it’s simply calories in vs calories out. You are eating more calories then you are burning. Doesn’t really matter what kind of food you eat. You will gain weight if you are in a surplus of calories

Yes, I agree! and I turned off the cardio facet hahaha

Forget the knee, I’m most worried about what you’re doing with all those theraguns 😂 4:19 why not get back on the swimming? Have you tried running but SLOW as in semi walking? Keeping the run frequency irrespective of pace is always best to maintain Linda ligament and terry tendon strength but only if pain when running (slow) isn’t >3-4/10, doesn’t get worse during the run or feel worse for more than 24h after.

hahahah the hyperice massage uns are for events. hahaha linda ligament terry tendon. I'm gonna stay on top of the stretch and weights routine

I think it isn't the food, or eating regiment, it is the fact that you have stopped doing the extreme cardio. Your body is reacting to not having that movement and cardio, similar to not eating carbs for months, your body holds on to things, because it knows it is being denied!
@AlecMerlino8 ай бұрын
100%! I turned off that facet and need to adjust accordingly. Stoked on getting back into the lifting and eating healthy again.

Let’s see some 5 to 10 mile walks on Strava my brotha hahah. But seriously, I know with some more time, you’re going to recover well. I know how it feels to not be able to do what you love and train hard. Been going to PT for Achilles tendonitis around 4 months now. Trust the process and it IS going to get better! We’re here for you my guy. 🤙🏽 CHEEHOOOOOO. SMASH YO LEGZ.

Sounds to me like your caloric expenditure just took a dip ever since you stopped running, biking and swimming. Two sessions a day is probably around 1000 calories burned. If you're not accounting for those 1000 calories back in you'd gain about 8lbs in just a month alone. 3,500 calories in a pound. Diet seems balanced and fine to me, if you want to drop a few hundred calories off just stick with egg whites or lose the avocado, both super dense caloric sources. Fellow hybrid athlete here background in nutrition. CHEHOO brotha you'll be back, just keep an eye on the extra weight, will stress the joints/ligaments when you do start running.

Dates are usually 2-3 dates per serving. Peanut butter is a lot of calories as well. It’s simple calories in calories out. You are probably still eating like you were when you were running. Now that you aren’t running, maybe start counting calories just to get a baseline? Looking good either way bro, don’t beat yourself up, that’s the worst thing you can do
@AlecMerlino8 ай бұрын
appreciate you bro. Yeah I think i just need to dial back on some of the higher density calories like Dates and PB

Most of the weight you are gaining is water weight. As you eat, your body is storing carbohydrates that it isn't burning from the cardio you aren't doing. With every g of carbohydrate you store, your body stores ~3g of water. Once you get back to the long rides, the weight should come off.
@AlecMerlino8 ай бұрын
that's what I've been hearing! THanks for the insight. the water to carb ratio is very interesting
@johnatnip95168 ай бұрын
stopping insane amounts of cardio obviously..your body is now able to add muscle that it usually wouldn't want to hold onto. Red meat def will add more muscle than turkey/chicken. Your test levels are probably much higher right now with the lower cardio which also allows for more muscle to be packed on. You look really good body comp wise, test your body fat % if your just adding muscle I wouldn't be concerned with changing your diet, Look at Nick Bare.

Looking at you it is not fat. Body fat % is better!! You are good. All the cardio was a lot you did and burned lot more calories and burning muscle. Now lifting you are not burning away muscle. Your age lifting and just the amount of walking u are doing is way enough and now your gaining muscle pounds. Guaranteed your waist size is same as it was at 175
@AlecMerlino8 ай бұрын
Yeah, waist size is the same. I think you're right, maybe a bit of muscle.

Im not an expert but I believe the red meat is fine for you. Along with the dates there's a lot of sugar in the fruits as well. That along with not doing as much cardio may be the reason for the weight gain. Like i mentioned, I'm no expert. You still look like you're in great shape though. Pretty sure you'll figure it out and get back to where you want to be!🤙

Loved the video ! Maybe you should be tracking your calories for a while and actually see how many calories you're eating ... Now that you're not doing that much exercise maybe your totally calorie intake is lower and also the gym workouts are helping you to build muscle while keeping the fat levels very similiar. You're looking pretty good tho hahahaha 💪🏼

thank you bro! yes, I think just being more conscious of the higher density calorie foods.

Bruhh your physique is better than 99% of the popular and ofc your going to add some weight if you stopped all running/cycling. You literally would cycling for 100miles a day bro lol and your body is probably like welp we aren't doing that anymore so it just fluctuates.
