I had what she wanted at the book fair! On the weekend I went to the book fair to thrift for used books that I could resell on eBay for profit. I found lot's of great books I will sell on eBay but one of the books I found another shopper wanted! What would you do as reseller? Keep the book or give her what she wanted?

Great Vid Mal , made me think of how I got into reading , whenever i was in trouble my Dad would send me to my room , I'd read a book and when i wanted to come out I'd take the book with me and ask Dad what a certain word meant , he would always mellow because he thought I was using the time constructively as he was an avid reader . The things 10 year olds think up to get out of trouble haha . 40 years later reading at least one book a week and know what most of the words mean hahah .

They do individually price them. They have a warehouse that does them and then they put them onto pallets for the book fairs that travel around. We go to our book fair every year-3 days - it's huge and cheap - read a lot and now that I'm retired I read even more- love mysteries and thrillers- one of my favorite authors is Harlan Coben and Ruth Ware and - Erik Lawson but read many others-and still love Dorothy l Sayers- but in the summer I love cozy easy read mysteries- have read 5 in a week sitting at the pool- usually read the whole series of a certain character so selling in bundles make so much sense to me ( I also have a kindle so freebees from library )- my Grands come to the sale with me -(I go the day before for myself) and then day two we just do the books they want- the lists are already made - (they are huge readers) and like books better than their kindles) Taught my grands to grab the entire series of the books they want- because you may not be able to get them at a later date esp for .25- this year it was hunger games lol- btw I really enjoy your videos- I don't why but love watching to source and pick and pack books (I think it's your accent)- I'm a huge fan of Australian tv (McCleod's daughters and wentworth among many many others

It's hard to not want to keep a lot of the books. I often set aside some books I would like to read but I also download a lot of self-help books that catch my eye on Audible and then as I work I can listen to it at the same time. But for fiction I like to read a proper book (not audio)

So exciting. Went to ours a couple weeks ago towards closing time so got great deal. Two paper bags full for $5!! Also gave my name to collect all remainder of books if the guy who's name they had from last year didn't want the leftovers. I guess he did because they never called me but when I gave my number they said if he did take them there's always next year😍😍 Great video and fun times. How did you wear your GoPro?

I’m heading to my first book fare in January in Brisbane. I’m thinking I’m needing a trolley of some sort 😀, I was initially thinking I might take a few reusable bags lol. Great video

I love my trolley but I normally have to do a few loads at a time when I am there solo. I couldn't do book fairs without it though. Mine is a ClaxCart

Your lifeline book fair is so much better than ours. We are lucky to find anything under $3 a book. And don't get any of the good books like you found. I might come to yours next time 😊

We have a lot of expensive books here also. Many are $5-$8. You have to pick carefully which is why it can take hours

Thanks for wearing the GoPro this was an extra fun one. I’m blown away by how polite people are at the sale there. In the US people are going through books like a feeding frenzy. Absolutely massive stash of books. Congratulations! I think the most I’ve ever found in one sale has been 50

This book fair looks amazing, but certainly requires stamina! You are very lucky to have willing helpers. It's amazing to see the scale in number and quality of books Lifeline receives. I'm glad to see all those lovely books get second lives. I found that Arnold Bodybuilding book once for $3.50 and sold it for $49.95. I've only ever spotted it once, it certain is a brick of a book.

I sold the Arnold book for about $80 once! It changes in value and goes up and down but it’s definitely a $50+ book. I am also so happy to see so many people still loving used books and reading. It’s very nice to see. They said they had 57k people come to the bookfair over the three days. So many books saved from landfill and so much money raised for the charity.

@@backfromburnout Aim high and hope for the best, it mostly depends on what else is listed at the time. But you need a fairly high price on that book as I just checked and it cost me over $15 to post. My little spreadsheet also confirmed that I allocated the profit I made towards buying a Lego set. I mostly pick up things to earn a little spending money for fun things.

That's an amazing haul! I'm based in the UK so hoping at some point I can find one here near me. There's no way I can pick up as many though (don't currently have a car!).

What a great haul!!! Looks like it was a great day! I have a question for you about storing books. Do you put books that have foxing with books on your shelves that don’t have it? Also do you find the foxing mould spreads to other books when stored together? Thank you 😊

A National Trust property near us hels a similar book sale annually, but much smaller of course. We obtained some excellent books from there. After a couple of years they realised/thought that they could make more money opening a book shop at the property. We're no longer members of the National Trust so I'm not able to say if it's still open.

Stacked up on the death pile shelf (which I’ve been working on clearing) and I’ll stack them in front of it also. I’ll get bundles done first so I don’t mix any up. Hopefully I won’t have to source for a while which will help my leg pain

For your first time GoProing you did really well, one question, how did you make your eBay app stay on the sold comps setting? Thanks for the inspiration.
@backfromburnout
@backfromburnout Жыл бұрын
You can lock the screen so it only shows the solds. There is a little padlock next to where it says solds and completed. Just press the little padlock icon and it will lock. I go between having it locked and having it off as I also like to check what’s actually listed with some books.
