Am so very happy to see a reseller saving real books (I organize as I go, too). The most valuable thing in my life: my library card ❤️
@B0BBuys7 ай бұрын
I LIVED at the library when I was a kid. They used to have a limit on how many books you could check out, but they would let me go over.

As a book lover it hurts to see books dumped in the bins. Just like it hurts to see people wreck the binding. So I appreciate seeing you caring for these.

I like how your book bins has them situated so you can look from both sides--mine has one long side up against the wall so you can't hardly even reach/see books on that side. You commented you're surprised people want to watch you look through the book bins/go over your haul, but I'm not surprised at all--you always have such interesting factoids/information you share along the way that makes it really interesting!!
@B0BBuys7 ай бұрын
I mean it sucks we don’t have rotations but we are lucky in other regards. They actually make it so you can shop all the bins from both sides so it’s easier for everyone

Very fun to watch this! I would add more books to my store but as you stated, take a lot of room lol. My postcards are starting to take over as it is haha.

lol! I still have so many post cards to list. Also there is an ephemera category on whatnot have you tried selling some over there? May be a good Avenue for your deathpile?
@FossilForwardFinds7 ай бұрын
@@B0BBuys My deathpile has mostly been bought on WhatNot lol. Because of shipping costs on WN its harder to sell individual cards so I haven't gone that route yet. Maybe on District sometime down the road.

The later run Ravenloft novels are also very expensive with Mithras' Court usually selling for $200+. All the Ravenloft sell well but the later ones are very rare.

Hi, B0b! Thank you for sharing your book selling strategy. 2nd & Charles is a great option. Have a great week!
@wildrosetreasuresva18377 ай бұрын
I have 8 bookshelves full plus several stacks on the floor. This may be sacrilege to some, but once I read a hard cover book, I used to pitch the dust jacket. That is how I could tell with a glance those that had been read. There were exceptions: signed copies, first edition, vintage or antique. Now for books that I don’t plan to keep, I keep the dust jacket so I can sell them @ 2nd & C. My 2nd & C will not accept books that have writing in them….including author’s signature.
@B0BBuys7 ай бұрын
That’s interesting. My 2nd and Charles has separate section for author signed books and actually mark those about what they sell on eBay or higher.

I love to watch your book bin videos and the overview videos you do so please keep them up. I love to read books and am trying to do the same as you in saving books and passing them on to others even though profit isn't the highest compared to other items I sell.

I love your Bins pricing on books! Here in Portland Oregon, our Bins have kid books 49 cents, adult paperback around $1.19, and adult hardcover $2.29. Do you have much luck in your area with library book sales? That's our top spot to source cheap.

I always seem to miss library sales, so I haven’t experienced how awesome they can be. I’m glad you still have a cheap way to source books 💕

Oof that revelation book would have possibly been a good pickup. I’ve done very well with vintage JW books. That one looked more modern but I think I’ve sold that one for around $12 or $15. And yes, some of their titles are pretty wild😊

It's funny watching you do that ... because I do almost the same thing when i'm looking though books. movies, music and more. It drives me nuts when people really mess everything up, Sounds like we both have a bit of ADHD / OCD. The thrift stores love it when I sort though stuff and try to organize and put stuff back in a certain order. I would love to alphabetize everything but realize someone is just going to come by and mess it all up anyways,. I have over 500 books listed and might have almost that many in piles that I sort through too..
@B0BBuys7 ай бұрын
Yeah I have the AuDHD combo. There are three older gentlemen that will actually push books over onto my hands when I’m organizing and it’s very frustrating but I just keep going. I actually had another guy help me organize today and that was really nice. Mostly everyone is happy and glad I’m doing it and give me space and wait to look until I’m done with a bin because it’s easier for them. I’m glad there is another organizing seller out there 💕

@@B0BBuys Ahhhh always nice when you have some help to make it better, Aww thanks !! I know a number of people that would do the same as me ... friends. It drives me me nuts when mess everything up right after I organize it. We don't have any bins sore here but people still tend to disorganize things. I go to some stores and as I'm going through stuff and organizing stuff the staff some times hand stuff to me to add back on to the shelves .. which I don't mind doing because I get to look through it first.

Have you ever sold through Amazon FBA?
@B0BBuys7 ай бұрын
I did for about two years, but I’ve been more successful on eBay and whatnot with less fees.
@megamanwins20167 ай бұрын
Are you the only bookseller that shops at that location?
@B0BBuys7 ай бұрын
No. In fact there were two FBA Amazon sellers shopping at the same time. There was also one antique dealer there too so I was extra excited about the Romola scoop. I’ve managed to find my niche between 1930s-1980s. With some outliers either way just by being a book nerd. Most Amazon sellers only scan the books and don’t rely on other knowledge to chose their picks
