P Without the hammer frenzy super Hugo really has no way of cowboy into a super which makes them away with your car weaker character in my opinion and the character is already pretty damn week you know the only thing he has going for him is the air grab that cannot be Perry but other than that he really has nothing on form lol

As much as I hate to play against grapplers, I’ve always thought that Hugo looked aesthetically cool. Like hes a big body character that also brings out a creepy and immense presence (you can’t even see his eyes for the most part) as he towers over you and does standing gigas super. Hugo belongs to a time in fg history when Capcom started to get into sophisticated or advanced gameplay ideas to show how much SF3 expands the ideas of previous SF games. That direction started in SFA, but was still underdeveloped, when we look at Birdie for example, who is already some steps beyond the plain grappler idea of Zangied and T Hawk. Hugo has a very interesting and flexible grappler moveset. It was SNK that pioneered this idea of "grappler expansion" notably with KOF's Goro Daimon, but i believe Hugo matched his level of grappler gameplay. It looks like "expanding gameplay" was a very dominant thought in fg makers around the mid and late 90s. Then if we pay attention, from that time on Capcom grapplers started having this advanced feel that is no longer basic grappler like Zangief: Birdie, Hugo, Alex, Mika, etc. Types like Zangief and Hawk became minority.
