@@abdullahtalks650 in my opinion it wasn't that creative lol it was just different from what you would see on collegevine or college essay guy. it was literally just the description of the game with a weak connection that ties in a lesson + some friendship element. Honestly no one needs to go to an ivy league. I used to think that college name means everything but come to find out that you get the exact same education if you go to a community college. I originally went to a top engineering school in the country but then transfer to a community college because I was not happy. Finishing up my Physics degree at Liberty, and got into John Hopkins and Purdue for Graduate programs in engineering. What I'm trying to say is that we need to rethink our preceptive when it comes to college.

Literally the thesis of the essay that got me into Stanford: “There are quite a few characters in the English language. A certain number of characters that I will not count on my fingers - I am eating Cheez-Itz. Numbers. Numbers remind me of the times that I have fallen and picked myself off of the pavement that usually cradles my toes.” Not exactly, but that was basically my introduction. Edit: Needed grammatical adjustments to prevent online ridicule and doubt. I don’t care enough to revise completely.

When you think about it, all college does is prepare you for your career. And while it is VERY good to have an Ivy on your résumé for a job, people without them are still making getting top tier jobs - and are less likely to be in debt if they couldn’t afford an Ivy education. Ivy’s are great but they don’t ruin your future cause you didn’t get in. For some people it meant they could go to a great college, not be in debt, and start their future with a clean slate.

One of my essays said that America crawled out of the ocean, and then it went everywhere. Maybe Kyle is schizophrenic or lost his logic to Bjork. Anyway, I had to rewrite my essay, which is good. Anyway, if I were ever to write an entrance essay, I'd write it about my bicycle. That was my independence and where I had a lot of philosophical talks with myself. Honestly, I've been blasted by Ivy League students, especially SD. I was still shy about telling people about my family life, my learning disability, how I was taught to read, which messes up my ability to spell at times, or the fact that I had to ride over 20 miles a day to give my money to my often intoxicated mother. We won't get into my bio dad. mom is doing better, at least. I gave up not saying anything about it. When I got my ACT score back, I saw my 21 and was like, off to OTC we go, a community college. As far as math goes, I made a 17 on that section. I am a curious person and will take Math 050 this spring. I really want to learn Trigonometry.

I actually loved the first "Among us" piece he wrote and I feel like the girl was trying to nitpick just for the sake of nitpicking. First, we both agree, her and I, that the piece was eloquent - Is a talent to be able to present a piece in a beautiful way - Aesthetics, right ? What I don't agree with are assertions that it wasn't rigorous in its content. The boy was writing a piece on a game he loves to play, and not describing the implications of a genocide in Darfur. How cathartic do you then expect it to be? Conversely, the fact that he was able to take a seemingly inane" topic and write a piece about it, not only creatively but also beautifully is actually commendable. Also, the fact that he wrote a piece about a game that has Machiavellian tendencies is not a bad thing, nor does it necessarily endow him with manipulative tendencies because all values are objective in nature . It is only after we give those values a direction and a focus by using them to our subjective benefits, that they then start to take on various forms and colors. So, Congratulations on your acceptance to Princeton. I am sure they loved your piece, as much as I did !!!!!! :)
