Hatred is a strong word, I know!
But I don’t have other words.
HATE fits the bill pretty well.
Born and raised here, and after seeing other places… I’ve realized what a mess this place is.
Here are my reasons why…

Oh my God it's honestly SCARY how identical your thoughts and experiences in Miami are to mine literally word for work verbatim. I'm from NJ right across from NYC and not even I could make it in Miami I left after only 2 years. Every job I've worked at there was always severely understaffed to the point where I was often left alone as the only person in the store/office. I made LESS money working IT in Miami than I did working crappy retail/warehousing up here. So much for "no income tax" right? My rent for a studio went from $1100 to $1750 in just a year and the apartment building started to fall apart right after. 5:03 "NIÑA NIÑA" in my case niño THAT'S SO ACCURATE!!! The traffic there is actually worse than it is to go to and from NJ and NYC it would take me over and hour to drive to and from work 5 miles in a straight line on Biscayne. I actually HAD an accident because someone making a turn from the left lane decided to skip the lane and turn all the way to the right where I was going straight and even though I knew exactly what was about to happen I came to a full stop and the back of his car swiped the front of mine and the cop said it was my fault??? Never had to swerve out of the way to avoid getting hit so much in my life and it literally takes 2 seconds to let someone turn onto the lane they need to get to but the BEST part is when they speed up and the way the streets there are set up makes it so theres no option BUT to make a U turn in the middle of the street. Don't even get me STARTED on those out of sync traffic lights that take FOREVER!!! My mail used to get lost all the time too. One problem I never see people talk about is how EVERYTHING at EVERY STORE is ALWAYS out of stock!!! Like bro they don't got NOTHING there ANYWHERE even the store I worked at. Publix is OVERRATED the sandwhiches are mid ShopRite is WAYYY cheaper and the buffet food is so much better. Crime there is absolutely out of control I've noticed once you leave SoBe Brickell Wynwood and Kendall it turns into Iraq real quick crime scene tape bullet holes and drive bys everywhere. 1 of my former coworkers moved to Virginia another NC another to NY and another overseas entirely. Sorry for the long comment but I'm just glad to see that I wasn't alone in this experience

Thank you! You just validated my viewpoint. I know fellow miamians who say I’m just negative that they like it here. Well good for them. I don’t! I unfortunately was hit with the lottery of being born here and not to a wealthy family. I’ve had to bust my butt just to make ends meet and I’m sick of it! I have to stay at least until my youngest graduates high school then she’ll likely go to college but they won’t be small children anymore. They can study and have jobs and i can do my traveling work assignments and at least spend 6 or 9 months out of the year out of this hell hole! Maybe they can come with me during the summer months! But I’m so desperate to leave I feel like 5-6 years is an eternity. My best advice is, don’t marry the wrong person. You’ll be stuck on your own surviving and having to coparent and if you leave you can’t take the kids and if you want to but don’t then you’re abandoning the kids. A couple needs to be really really really strong and put eachother first before having kids. Because those kids will end up being your anchor! So decide where you want to drop it and with who before you do.

I agree with Miami isn’t for the faint of heart. Do you like other cities in Florida? If you want to move somewhere warm, maybe try Texas. I’m originally born and raised there, and a lot of former Floridians have moved to Texas, specifically Houston, and absolutely love it. Just be warned that Houston is very similar to Miami in terms of the weather, humidity, and bad drivers. Or, if you’re tired of hot weather, I recommend Pennsylvania, specifically the Philadelphia Metro Area. I grew up there as a kid, and I enjoyed living there. Good luck with where you choose to move to!

Aww thank you!!!! I have a 4th part of my trip to the Tetons video coming up just still editing. And a recent camping trip this weekend. Yes I’m just waiting for my youngest to go off to college to be able to leave and move around doing travel work for a while. I want to see more of the country. Miami has become like a boring small town to me where everything and everyone is the same. Not interested in this shallow city life! I want more nature and quiet away from people!
