The smartest thing I've ever done is to have the attitude that as long as my daughters love the guy, I love the guy. When my girls don't love them anymore then I don't love them anymore. My daughters know I'm always on their side. But they get to live their lives, make their own mistakes. I only give advice when I'm asked for it and even then I'm careful of what I say. The result is my daughters, all 3 of them, are an open book to me. The good, the bad, and the ugly. But they also know forgiveness. Doesn't mean they should stay w the guy. But it gives you the strength to not give up on yourself or your kids. I'm very proud of the kindness my girls have in their hearts.

My first MIL was/is a total beast and I will never inflict that on my sons OR their wives. I've told my sons: Pick well, because even if you do not, NEVER expect me to take your sides. I respect marital vows and that's final. This young man is also not some young teen still needing Mom's advice. Also, IF this were my daughter in law, I'd be thrilled. She's a good person, a good mother, a good wife. What more does the mom want. I feel sad for the mom also, as people are often very unhappy to behave this way. Everyone loses. Only in ONE situation should extended family intervene, and that is when children are being abused/neglected. This lady is going to be an excellent mother; that is clear.

Hacking into an account because "My sister-in-law works for the government" is a fantasy movie world. Her sister-in-law can't do jack "hacking" into accounts. 1) Hacking into a facebook account is just guessing passwords. That's not really hacking. It's a billion-dollar company, not even the NSA can hack into Facebook but ASKS for data from Facebook by force.2) Right now she accuses the sister-in-law of committing a crime which IMMEDIATELY gets the sister-in-law fired from her job (if it's true) and will never be able to work for the government again. When you start "hacking" Facebook accounts that's a crime. Unlike movies, they aren't looking for people randomly hacking into things to destroy people their lives. In conclusion: She is lying, she did it and tries to blame someone else and if I was her sister-in-law I would immediately break all contact. If someone tries to destroy my life like that on national TV then there is no room for you in my life.
