~Little dungeon, little dungeon of horrors~ Now that I think about it, I don't think I ever finished watching that film. I feel like Rafflesia is an exercise in "ok this is where we teach you to craft specific equipment to deal with specific bosses", so you forge a Holy Spore onto your weapon of choice, seal everything and hey presto game won. Except that it's not at all obvious that Rafflesia can be sealed, and you aren't likely to have a silent ring at this point either unless you're really into fishing (does Bado sell silent ring at this point if you get the order? I feel like he might, but I don't know for sure) Also yeah Search skill was borked in RF4 vanilla, now as you raise it you get rarer drops more often, better quality drops, and more items in general (mining ores especially, you get loads of small and Big crystal and light ore once you pass a certain point)

Yeah the lava/fire areas are definitely the most challenging the boss was very easy once I equip the silent ring they can't do anything once he's sealed.

you know... if you spam attack, rather than power attack the bone dragon, the bones go away faster... you only want to hit the heart hard, not the bones... the bones go away with a single hit... so fast attack those.

I imagine this playthrough is going to need to use the Strange Pendant at some point, it makes everyone's defence and magic defence 0, elemental weaknesses/resistances remain unaffected, but it means you don't have to worry about not dealing damage to powerful opponents, just remember the same applies back(they can one hit kill you and just getting more defence doesn't work, you either need resistance to the element or to avoid the attack). You only need amethest, ruby and any mineral, you can craft it where you are now in the story.
