Sorry about the recording quality, server replays are super glitchy. This was a game I played last patch that perfectly captured what I hate about ticket bleed in Air RB. I know it serves the function of mitigating the effects of base campers but I think there are better ways to tackle that. I'll be doing a more indepth video on problems I have with Air RB later down the line but for today I just wanted to use this footage. It feels nice to use the old Adam video style.

Just got off the game cause a bomber took too long to take off from the enemy team and it bled so many tickets from them that the match ended after the bomber took off. Wasn't even the poor fellas fault he couldnt get up in time

Except it's not a PvP game and never has been, it's always been a PvA game. (PvA = Player versus All.) Ignore the enemy AI at your peril.

@@TheOneTrueDragonKing This is all well and good until your team's AI decide to circle in the middle of nowhere instead of actually ground pounding, causing the enemy team to auto-win after awhile. This has happened to me so many times. Imo only direct player actions should bleed tickets.

Ticket bleed was designed to combat people who camp at base, AFKers, those that stay on the runway and not launch, and those that occasionally lob missiles across the map. It serves that purpose well. Now if only we could get a mechanic that serves to punish those who orbit high above the enemy spawn and lob missiles at helpless players (aka spawncampers) in Arcade, we could actually get things done!

@ passive ticket bleed already exists. Both sides automatically lose the same amount of tickets every few minutes. The match timer is also only 25 minutes nowadays instead of the hour it used to be. Plus you yourself can just ground pound to end the match sooner. I don’t have a problem with any of these mechanics. I just don’t like the highly asymmetric ticket bleed the AI tend to cause.

Air arcade on some maps has some kind of strange bleed mechanic where some games can end within 5 minutes, I don't know if it's more optimal AI pathing or what. Definitely has ruined streaks or wagers of mine where I needed more time to rack up the kills.

Ticket bleed did make sense to some degree back when matches could last up to an hour, and where killing ground targets in a ground pounder could win games. At some point Gaijin even added three groups of unarmoured trucks that would spawn after 30 min (if i remember right). And killing those would cost the enemy team a lot of tickets, and even planes with only small caliber mgs could kill them. And they were added as sometimes the ticket bleed would be too slow to end the match in any kind of reasonable time, if the last enemy had climbed to space. These days with matches only being 25 min long at most, and killing ground targets almost never wining games anymore (for slower prop ground pounders there's just not enough time to kill enough ground targets to win), there's just no need for ticket bleed anymore.

Ticket bleed was more used because people would space climb in a bomber or a fast plane or people trying to dog fight over there airfiled to beat you it for a easy kill but most play to tier and non of this stuff matters anymore cause well thing like agms fox3's and ir missiles the pick up 60°c from 10km are a thing now so ticket bleed not really thought about much in top tier

i suppose that is true, but if I were to have spent more effort PvEing, I would've died much faster to the enemies, so you really have no choice but to PvP until there are few enough enemies to PvE. There isn't really a PvP dedicated gamemode, which is rather unfortunate

My problem with ticket bleed isn't that players ground attacking can end the battle early. My problem with ticket bleed is that the AI planes ground attacking can not only end the battle early, but that sometimes one team's planes will glitch and fly in circles in the middle of nowhere, causing them to eventually auto-lose. Imo the AI planes killing ground targets should have zero impact on the tickets, only direct player actions.

tunisia is atrocious for its ticket bleed. I once saw a single wyvern win the game by killing 10 ground targets on that map. absolutely unbalanced map design.

IDK, I love ground pounding way more than just shooting at people, BUT I HATE competing for ground units against AI and they doing my strike work you know?? And yes it bleeds more tickets than it should but it's a risky task and without the team clearing the skies strike aircraft are sitting ducks (at least before higher tiers) so I hate the AI winning the game in both sides. We NEED a longer game mode like EC rb, a mix of fighters, bombers and attackers doing their stuff without ending the game in 10 minutes or less, that's what I love of sim battles even if I don't like how it plays.

To be fair man, you didnt lose to passive ticket bleed at the end there. The enemy A5C was out there doing it themselves to end the game killing the AA trucks and your attack plane AI's. Thats fine by me. There needs to be a way to end games if someone is running off to space or camping airfield AA or something like that. Passive ticket bleed is pretty BS though (AI killing AI) and I wish that it would be lessened or removed. Nothing worse than both players commiting to a dogfight to end a game and it getting ruined by an AI howitzer finally randomly hitting its shot or something -.-

It drives me mad when people respond with something along the lines of "erm, well, actually they outplayed you, and focused on the objective ☝️😼". I find it particularily egregious in 4.3 where the Wyvern exists. It is all too common that 2 or 3 Wyverns will wipe out a massive amount of AI ground targets before running back to their base, and as a fighter, there is not a thing I can do to stop that. I don't like losing to something completely out of my control.

@@CatWerfer Like most player behaviour problems in this game, Gaijin doesn't teach people any better. Meanwhile, when you first start playing Ground battles, the game actively prompts you to blind yourself with smoke grenades every time you get hit. Either the game doesn't tell you what to do, or it literally tells you exactly what NOT to do.

@CatWerfer you can bleed tickets destroying airfield modules, capturing the zone but the AI bleeds tickets when you ignore tasks like destroy enemy AI bombers or protect your own AI. It can bleed tickets so fast the whole game lasts 1 to 1,5 hours.

That's the reason the tasks exist. You kill the AI and the enemy loses their tickets. Every task has an opposite one for the enemy. When yours says destroy the AI, theirs says protect it.

Ticket bleed is caused by destroying ground targets, even by AI planes, so killing off the enemy AI ground attackers will stop that cause of ticket bleed.

@@CatWerfer Surprised you agree with me there. You seem more of the PvP type than the PvE type. You prefer air-to-air versus air-to-ground, even when air to ground is the objective. By not playing the objective, you actually contribute to the problem. When you play the objective rather than doing your own thing, you get the appropriate rewards - that is to say, you win. And when you do your own thing rather than playing the objective, you get the appropriate consequences - that is to say, you lose. So yes, you lost, but it's not due to ticket bleed. It's due to not enough players playing the objective and too many focusing on air battles. You didn't do any of what you were supposed to do to win, and in doing so, you earned that loss. Plain and simple. Dogfights simply don't matter as much as the actual objective. So try killing the AI, like you're supposed to, rather than killing other players. Don't blame ticket bleed for your own lack of ability to perform the mission. For me the best game mode would be a Reverse Assault mode. You know, the mode where a small number of players face off against waves upon waves of AI bombers and attackers plus Howitzer artillery in the mix on certain waves? However, it'd be flipped on its' head so that players were the attackers, and the AI were on defense. Perhaps something similar to helicopter PvE but with fixed-wing aircraft.

I think there should be a separate air superiority gamemode and separate ground attack gamemode. I don't want to lose because I didn't groundpound in a fighter with limited ammo like a yak3 and I don't want to lose because I couldn't kill fighters in an attacker like the mosquito. In this game in particular, sure I could've groundpound more but its always a balance since if I spend ammo killing ground targets, I can't kill as many air targets, which will then kill me if I don't kill them first. From a team contribution standpoint I think eliminating 6 enemies that could've potentially killed me and other teammates is a lot more useful than if I had just groundpound. I think it's very difficult to assign responsibility in terms of who causes a win and a loss when the gamemode is inherently structured to try to accomodate so many different types of vehicle classes to the point that it kinda falls apart. tldr we need more gamemodes for different vehicle classes, air rb is stale
