People's attitude can act as a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you focus on how crappy your life is and what you don't have rather than how good your life can be and what you can gain then you'll make no progress. I'm not talking about "The Secret"--it still takes hard work, but sitting around being envious and not letting that envy motivate you to make your own life better is exactly the type of time-wasting that keeps you where you're at.
@Maxx.Powell2 жыл бұрын
100% true. I have read The Secret. Obviously It's a bit ridiculous, but the main take away that i found from the book is that when you train your mind to look for opportunity then you're going to find opportunity. If you go through life with a demeaning outlook on your own life and potential then opportunities will pass right by you without you ever even noticing.

Hey man, names Walter, Been watching ur channel for a while now, I remember having my second gen tacoma searching for some mod inspo on youtube. came across ur channel around when u painted ur fenders on ur taco. lol anyway I dont really comment often but this was definitely a comment over due. I wanna mainly thank you! youre content has always helped me stay positive and inspires me to follow my passions and goals. life has its ups and downs and as u mention in one of ur recent videos its all about the way u handle it and your attitude. The message behind that video hit home with me, as do alot of youre videos. I cant explain enough in this story book of a comment so far, but the energy and overall messgae you put out is unlike most. I cant thank you and ur supportive family enough for continuing to make content and truly inspiring others like myself. My favorite line I've stolen and now tell everyone is ur famous outro ''' Get some work done this week, but dont forget to live" ! Just wanted you guys to know youre making a diffrence an that there are so many ppl like myself who just dont say it but, youre videos help us out more than u know! You're awesome, Much Love!!!!

Dude thank you for this comment. This means alot. To be honest, I grew self conscious of posting inspirational content and advice when I started having issues with my Fire fighting career. I felt like I wasn't living my own message and that I was in no place to share advice when I was so anxious and depressed and our future was uncertain. But I'm reality, that experience was part of my growth and I am so happy for it now. I think low periods in life are so essential to growth and its often overlooked. Your comment motivates me to share more of my experiences and keep the advice comming, thanks man 👊

I had been saving up for my overlanding rig since I was old enough to work, completely agree with the mentality of always trying to find ways to pursue your goals, never accepting your current circumstances, always looking for ways to improve, and having the positive mindset. I had a 6 month gap this year where I was set back huge, I got medically discharged, and couldn't find a job where I was able to keep a roof over my head, but I didn't accept my circumstances, or get jealous of those around me, I devoted all of my time being homeless and jobless searching for a job, found one, got a roof over my head, and kept searching and improving. I have gotten so many people who said must be nice, or I got a whole bunch of handouts, or parents money; so I understand your irritation when people have a negative attitude, you must seek ways to better your finances and mindset. The woe is me mindset won't get you anywhere in life but misery, but the what can I do to improve today for a better life tomorrow mindset will carry you as far as long as you put your mind to it. I have been watching your channel for quite some time between old accounts and this one and absolutely love your content!

That ending got me. 😂 Saw the title and figured there would be a Cam Hanes theme to the video. Solid advice and something I'm trying to take to heart. Talking about being in a job that you're not happy with and living vicariously through youtube really hit home. Been guilty of that a bit lately if I'm honest. A crap job can suck the life out of you, if you let it, and I've let it in recent weeks. I'm enjoying this "series" the last few uploads and have needed that inspiration to kick myself in the backside. Well done and, to borrow the phrase, keep hammering.

Self installation is part of the reason I’m thankful my dad was a hands on guy. Not a licensed mechanic by any stretch, but he knew a lot by working on cars all his life and that rubbed off on me. My buddy pays mechanics to do all his work and when I hear the prices, it blows my mind. And it’s definitely nice to have money for stuff, but you can only get there by making sacrifices in other parts of your life. I held off on buying my Tacoma after my dodge died for 3 years. 3 years I drove a 2000 RAV4. Great car, but I loved my truck and so i waited on buying another truck cause I wanted my wife to have the Jeep of her dreams first. Sometimes you gotta wait, or build up to it, or sacrifice a hobby for another. Gotta be positive and keep improving, it’s all you can do

DUDE I've been preaching this message for a long time. Even in a corporate environment its not hard to stand out. You put all you got into it and always ask questions. Always be curious. Always try and it pays dividends hand over fist. I bought my first house at 23 making $14 an hour because I had saved so much money that I had a paid off truck and 35% down on a house and still had a reserve. Fast forward to the last few years and we turned our first house as a married couple into a rental and then sold and now have a paid off home at 38. The one thing I find funny is I reach out like this all the time to people close to me and people I look up to and tell them they can ask anything of me and I would love to help them with goals/finances etc and you hear crickets... because people don't like giving up luxuries/comforts. With that said, I am still over here near CW wraps and always open to chat! We both have a lot we could learn from one another! cheers dude

People can be "WELL IT MUST BE NICE" But then it's a good thing to think about. Like It Must be Nice if I take what I learned and saw, then use it to my advantage. If I hit a brick wall, I may ask for advice I may have missed you give away for free. Toni Robins is a great speaker and motivator, but he doesn't give it all away for free. You give great advice that helps a lot, and so far, its free. I like the saying: "If you do what you always have done, you will get what you always got." My Son is wanting to take the adventures in life at 19. I don't want to pretend your advice is mine, but I will pass it on to him and where I got the advice from. Thank you both.

Maxx, I appreciate the videos you’ve been putting out. Especially lately it seems that you’re focusing on your content but also bringing back your sections of life advice. Honestly it is refreshing to see someone out there who is focusing on positive attitudes, even through adversity. I’ve been going through an absolutely horrible time in my life for the past year and it’s likely going to be absolutely horrible for the next year. And I’m not exaggerating, like if I lost my career it wouldn’t even touch the worst things (plural) that have happened to me over the last year or so. But I really like watching your content and it helps me through my day. Honestly hearing you talk about how YT and your other businesses are working out and letting you get things you enjoy is great to hear because ngl just looking at your KZbin over the last couple years has always seemed like you were only just getting by, but I’m glad to hear things are getting better. You remind me a lot of my cousin who is also getting started on his own business and I hope he gets the success that you have. Anyway that’s just my rambling lol, keep up the content and farm videos

Lots of people like to blame others, or claim disparity. I work 65-80hrs a week to build my tacoma. Now I am building an overlanding trailer, and spent about $2500 on it in just parts.. the other part is now finding the time to invest into building the trailer... it can be frustrating seeing others with all the big trucks, and name brand equipment, I buy what I can, and they show up to the next trip with better stuff.. I started to realize I can't compare my needs, and wants to what others have. I get what works for me, and stay within my budget.

Everyone needs to watch your channel man. I happen to love the random Maxx lessons, particularly the one about how you react when everything goes to S**t I try to have that same attitude and succeed often, but every so often the situation still gets the best of me and I fall in that trap of getting angry, and "Why me" and it literally gets you nowhere. To sum it up, S**t happens, then you wipe 😅

That is THE worst attitude to have and I completely understand your frustration with it. There's a quote from Henry Ford: "There are two types of people in this world. Those who think they can and those who think they can't. They are both right." It's all mindset and perception. If you can't CHANGE how something is, CHANGE how you perceive it. Stop thinking "must be nice" and *start* thinking "Damn I like that...how can I achieve that?" Life is a game of trial and error. You must fail until you succeed. Repeat the formula. Don't dwell/fixate on others success and possessions in a negative way, but use it as fuel to achieve your goals. Perception.

You can mount the solar panels to the bottom of the Prinsu crossbars (instead of the tops), then you would still have cross rails to store your totes or whatever without having the fear of damaging the panels.
