@@daviddenham1511 Sir - What the heck are you talking about? Gary is being his authentic self and could care less about being famous or followers. I think you should take your own advice and mind the business that pays you. He’s doing what he loves! No one cares about your wife or Thai restaurants. If anything you just put your foot in your mouth because I’m telling my group of 1,000+ expats to avoid whatever you have going on. Grow up and stop being a jerk. As a general rule, if you are running away from an unhappy life, you won't suddenly find life is magical in Thailand. Wherever you go, there you are. However, sometimes it takes a bit of travel to find where you truly belong. Best to be happy in yourself wherever you are
@ThairishTimes
@ThairishTimes 2 жыл бұрын
Yep, but travel also opens a whole new perspective on life. Meeting new people from different cultures to your own can really change a person in the right way

@@ThairishTimes oh definitely. And one of my favorite quotes from The Beach (the book) - "escape through travel works". Travel broadens your horizons, especially if you go to out of the way places. But... Thailand is full of Farangs running away from unhappiness, and at the end of the day you have to live with yourself wherever you are, so you know, if you have issues, they will follow you

@@stangoodvibes England - and the West generally - is approaching a colossal struggle for its continued existence. It's great to live abroad, have done so myself for many years, but now is not the time for longterm escapism. These men are basically deserters in my opinion.

I have visited 6 continents out of 7, aways as a tourist. In Thailand I have visited about 21 cities, islands, beaches, so far. All countries in d world r nice & good but As per my travel experience, Thailand is best of all, in every respect.. 95% Thai people r nice, humble,honest & good. Thailand is a safe & secured country by more than 95%. If one has knowledge Thailand is a cheap country by accommodation, food, transportation & shopping etc.. it is rightly said about Thailand LAND of SMILES & PARADISE on d Earth.. thnx

The source of PM2.5 is a vehicle. The latest data found that it is caused by car smoke 72.5%. Once the origin of the vehicle is known, the government has ordered it to be corrected by issuing various measures. Look at the problems caused by vehicles and open burning that need to be addressed urgently. But if comparing the dust value today with the same period last year It was considered that last year was much heavier. Look at the number of days that the value is more than the norm. caused by air This year, the weather has resulted in higher dust costs. More cars. and in Bangkok There is a construction of an electric train route. believe that all agencies will accelerate the problem of dust exceeding the standard according to factors This year's situation is better than last year. And I don't want people to panic too much,” said the Director-General of the Pollution Control Department. When asked about concrete long-term solutions Director-General of the Pollution Control Department said that for long-term solutions, there are 3 measures. The simple solution is to stop using cars to work. If we don't help each other, no one can help because 72.5% of the toxic dust comes from cars. so I want to request ask for cooperation because it is something that everyone has a part to do Solving the problem takes time. Which the Pollution Control Department has already begun to show an example by refraining from using private cars to travel to work every Wednesday. Only 1 day a week, the Pollution Control Department's employees have 500 people, all 128 cars, but for those who are not ready, they do not force each other. It's okay to ask for cooperation.

I'm surprised that the government have not introduced congestion zones and low emission zones to limit vehicle pollution. Just relying on people to voluntarily do the right thing doesn't work. What forces the issue is hitting them in their pockets. Not popular I know but it tends to work.

Politicians will only find ways to give $$ when it directly benefits them before the election. In Thailand, they take a huge chunk to insure the price of different crops for farmers because we don't limit farmers from all growing the same things. If we do things like in Japan where different farmers grow different crops, then we won't have that problem anymore. When we stop insuring price differences only then we would be able to buy machinery to stop the burning. The problem exits throughout the whole southeast Asia, so it's definitely harder to control. That's why we have lot of thongauria trees in BKK now.

I learned at a very young age observing people in America that they all looked miserable all seeking some status and it all just seemed so fake and shallow. Nothing wrong with wanting more money in itself and or the work or career or path you decide to follow in life. But if you are unhappy, miserable, and stressed. It is obvious you are doing something horribly wrong. The only reason I stayed much longer than I should have in my last job was it gave me the ability to travel six months or longer every year. I lived a very frugal lifestyle so was able to save a great deal of money in a very short period of time. In a way, I beat the system and fled America years ago and moved to Thailand. As Gary said it just felt right to be here. The Gary interview was long overdue and it was great to hear his views and the history behind his love of Thai food and why he moved to Thailand. In my opinion one of the few KZbin channels with a foreign host that truly understands Thai food and speaks Thai. Never been a fan of Bangkok but after watching his channel along with Bangkok Pat I am now willing to spend more time there and explore. The quality of the KZbin channels out of Thailand has greatly improved just over the last few years. As most are unbearably horrible and attract let's just say some very undesirable humans here. The last thing this country needs are more of the very people who have given us all a very bad reputation here. Keep interviewing Pete the foreigners that have a real love for Thailand and its people and those with higher quality channels like Gary's you can,t go wrong.

For me Gary is the the best Thai food youtuber. His passion for the food(and Thailand) is so honest and he uses his knowledge so well to bring the viewer on the journey of whatever dish he is covering. There are no tricks, hooks, or bullshit catchphrases or actions. Just a genuine foody spreading the good word. So cool to hear some of his story. Once again another top interview Pete. Love it.

Hi Pete - Irish here too The algo recommended your interview with Paddy because I'm subbed to him - and here we are, now I'm subbed to your channel too. Nice style of interviews and a good insight to living in Thailand Question: where are the cameras in this video? I can't quite figure it out It looks like there's two cameras and there's none facing Gary - but one of the shots shows Gary from the front Hope that makes sense. Would love to know how this works technically Cheers
