Get a 4 ft piece of conduit. Tape a ? 9inch piece of stiff wire at the bottom of it at a 90 degree angle. That's your spacing. Just walk along and drop the seed down the tube. No bending over. :-)

Why not get some weed block fabric to control weeds? My first job was growing tomatoes in a 9 bay greenhouse. We supplied tomatoes for a grocery store in town. Some would weigh 1 pound.
