About my videos: These videos are a resource for anyone wishing to wake up from the dream of separation. Awakening, enlightenment, and liberation are becoming far more mainstream possibilities than they once were. There are many good teachers out there, and if you resonate with the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Rupert Spira, or Sadhguru, you might find resources here that address these deeper promptings to investigate your true nature.
Disclaimer: The information presented in these videos is not meant to diagnose or treat any psychiatric or medical illness. The inquiries presented herein are potent and can have powerful effects on the way you experience yourself and reality. If you feel you are at risk of harming yourself or others, these videos and practices may not be the best thing for you at the moment. Seek help wherever necessary which might include a hospital emergency department, a suicide helpline etc.

A good gauge for truth I found (for myself early on) is that the Hindu, Muslim, Christian, and Buddhist mystics (and others) are all in agreement. The mainstream religions based on their teachings are for obvious reasons misinterpretations.

I love this. Had I not had an awakening experience 28 years ago I’d have thought they were lying too. It constantly impresses me how many people stick with this without having had any experience with it. I’d have given up long ago had I not had that experience.

I'm curious. Do you mean that you had an experience 28 years ago and haven't experienced anything similar since then? And that experience still shapes your beliefs?

@@MartinKPettersson I had no idea what that experience was or that other people had similar experiences until about 3 years ago when I found Angelo. But yes, it was one of those moments so profound that it’s etched into my mind. I longed for that peace for almost 30 years and now that I know it’s possible I can’t seem to wake up, haha.

@@ryannuhfer7427 thank you for elaborating. I lived for many years at meditation centers where experiences like this are common place. It seems that for some people they then use these experiences and draw conclusions about the nature of things and what is and what isn't. I guess as long as it helps people feel good there is good in that :) Wish you all the best with your practice.

This is a very useful talk. I often have had thoughts that maybe enlightenment isn't real, and everyone who claimed they were, were either delusional or trying to scam people. The first of the five Buddhist indriyas is faith (saddha). Faith in the dharma, that enlightenment is possible in this lifetime. I won't let doubt or my beliefs prevent me from seeing and experiencing the truth of existence. The biggest thing I'm taking away from this video is the difference between seeking and curosity. This was temendously valuable to me. Seeking is future oriented and therefore a hindrance, while curiosity is looking deep into the present moment, into the nature of reality. Thank you Angelo for providing all this valuable guidance. I am so grateful for your teachings.

I resonate with this, in that as I negate the peaks and troughs of this path for too long that obv. I don't doubt doing it, I have these moments where I end up thinking 'oh yeah it's nothing that's really gonna happen or whatever I've thought or done has been a total waste and not the 'real' thing..... It's probably part of the whole shattering.

Stand up Comedy for Liberation :D I love it! - Thank you for this one, really resonated with me. This oceanic feeling and the curiosity part helped, too. It's validating my experience and helping me deal with the doubt of the mind. I know I know, it has been said so many times, but the beingness just seems so simple and the mind wants so super impose something on it, telling all kinds of stories what awakening and liberation actually is, apparently :D Leaning into the ocean is such a beautiful wording. Will try being with that! Thank you!

I'd suggest people who lean heavily towards rational thinking to incorporate analytical meditations to their practice such as "The Sevenfold Reasoning" to negate the self, as described in Rob Burbea's book. It's a powerful tool that leads to the same exact realization as self-enquiry, and instead of trying to do away with thoughts it skillfully uses them as a stepping stone to realize the illusory nature of self

All I really see with these sessions is a bunch of pointless questions being asked, with the underlying request being, "Please, just wake me up. I'm tired of this crap". I'd probably ask something just as pointless with the underlying hope being that I'll wake up, nod to the answer as if I'm getting somewhere, stroll off into the sunset whilst everyone's watching, and then fuck off and do *absolutely nothing* . My problem is that I just refuse to do self-enquiry. It's quite clear from Angelo's talks and the talks of others that that's the way home. But I'd rather stay in this nightmare than practise self-enquiry. Why should I have to do something so utterly shite to get out of this mess? Asking a question I didn't even come up with myself and praying that something happens. I'll just stay here forever. Fuck it.

Why do you refuse to do self inquiry?
@Marphale
@Marphale 8 ай бұрын
@@injoyinmyself2018 Nothing happens when I have done it in the past. I just look at it very logically. If I ask the question, "Who am I?" and nothing happens, then why should something ever happen? Either something did happen and I got closer to liberation, or absolutely nothing happened. I think it's probably the latter. I also don't understand the question, "Who am I?", so it's not something I can ask very genuinely. I'm aware that something is off with me though. I feel a bit bad when I read my comment back and I would never talk like that in person. I'm probably just hurting because I'm not getting anywhere. Also I kind of appreciated the honesty of the guy in the video. It's not like the usual nonsense question at all. Maybe I should just delete my original comment.
