I Have a HUGE Issue With Chasca... (Genshin Impact)

I want to clarify that it's not about if C1 or C2 is needed to make her good. I think she's quite strong at C0. The issue I have is that, to me, C1 can *feel* like a solid constellation at first. It's not until you really look into her kit and/or C2 to understand that you're still not getting that team flexibility while maxing the passive until C2, but it's easily mistaken that C1 does this itself (which it should imo). At C1 you can decide between guaranteed conversion OR 65% damage buff if you want to take same element units. Many recent C1s are lackluster, with C2 being the good one. I also have an issue with that, but it's even worse in this case, because it's not as obvious. If you decide to get C1 before looking more deeply into her (like I almost did) that feels like a slap in the face... Sure, you can blame me/others for not diving deeper in the first place, but many just check C1 to see if they want it or not before continuing on their summons.

Yes this is actually true i just watched a video on bilibili and the person also mentioned this as well. One more option at c1 is also bringing 2 pyro units so that you'll get the atk buff and damage loss will get minimum or bringing xilonen. But yeah overall the teams core for highest damage is Bennet and furina and a flex and anything outside that won't be even worth it. Such shame, so much wasted potential for a character 😢 Also the fact that they divided this qol for her in 2 constellations is a scummy move 😂 This is getting out of hand

Chasca is a lot of fun and feels pretty strong at C0 and I don't mind the team restrictions much since I already have a lot of built characters, so more than enough options... but I didn't realize this problem with her C1, so thank you for pointing it out. I have no problem with restrictive teams or a character's c1 being a qol fix, but half-assing a c1 or locking qol behind c2+ is kind of pushing it when it comes to limited time characters. It only hurts the casual/low spenders(who don't money to throw away), which makes up the larger portion of your playerbase. This obviously has no effect on the whales since they're usually just gonna pull for constellation regardless. And before I get the "she's still really good at c0" argument, that's not the point. The point is that Hoyo is starting to get more predatory with how they're designing/implementing character constellations. It feels like they're testing how much they can get away with when it involves qol constellations.

I’m not understanding the disappointment with limited elements that work well with her. She’s an anemo DPS that does swirl damage. You can’t swirl geo, dendro, and anemo. Wanderer’s buff works the same way and Xiolen (spelling?) elemental buffs only work with elements that geo has the crystallize reaction with so she doesn’t give an anemo or dendro buff.

Chasca is a fake anemo character which means she does pyro/cryo/hydro/electro damage for 90% of her damage. This makes you want to buff her elemental damage with characters like kazuha/sucrose or xilonen. But you cant because she is restricted to PHEC characters in her team. Secondly, comfortable options and stable cores are also out of the picture like zhongli, like xiangling + bennett, like zhongli+chiori or double hydro comps (mona + furina) or healing options for furina like furina + jean. As you can see there are a bunch of teammates and archetypes that chasca can’t use. Not to mention that being anemo charge dps she already has antisynergy with xinqui/yelan and dendro comps. This makes her super restrictive even though you can say that she can use many elements, many distinct* elements that doesn’t paint the whole picture

While not getting the damage buff is annoying, it’s not like you are locked in rainbow teams. Adding someone like Xianling can result in a team with better AOE but worse single target, so it’s still very useable if you want. This is the same scenario as C0 Neauvilette being used with Furina, or Lyney being used with Furina & Xilonen/Kazuha. Sometimes units can add more that a passive stack. The only unit who is truly restricted by their passive would be Nilou, since without her passive there are just other better options for bloom teams.

I ended up with C1 before I could manage to get Ororon at C0. I wasn't intending on constellations for her but it just so happened to well happen. I'm wondering now if I should get the C2 though I don't feel duped. Many characters now have very good C2s with their C1s being hit or miss. Her gameplay is fun so far! Her team comps aren't as restrictive as people make it up to be. Sure you lose a bit of dmg bonus and chance to get extra bullet. But With buffers and proper rotation she should still do well enough even in dual PHEC team comps.

Well, Moga's not F2P. He spends enough that, if you defeat him, you get Lightless drops ;) But while it isn't "need", there is often a QoL factor at play. Like here C1 gives you 30% reduced Natlan stuff consumption, which means 42% more flight time, while C1+C2 loosens her team restrictions. And while C1 isn't particularly useful in that regard (what, you're going to use Xil or Nahida with her?), C2 would allow for something like 2 hydro, 1 pyro setups while Chasca still operates at full power.

There's an ideal sweet spot for Hoyoverse, where a character is appealing enough at C0 that people bite (and so no need), but with enough annoyances that people feel spending for C1/C2 is worthwhile. And once they get you once, well, you now have a character that avoids the moist (not wet enough to be really bothersome, but still annoying) factor, which makes you want to avoid that for future characters as well. And that's why Moga talks of "need" ;)

Maybe its just me but I find her aimed charged e skill so clunky on mobile. Like the controls for navigation just doesn't feel as natural on my hands especially when you need to go up or down. I was expecting the same level of navigation when you're swimming but the fact you cant rise up or go down while moving forward kinda messed with me. I was also expecting her charged shots to be like Neuvilettes where it automatically charges on its own but the fact you have to manually hold down the button and charge like Navia's e skill is super clunky to me esp when shes in midair and I might have misaligned how high I am. It works for Navia since shes on the ground but God did I feel like i was missing most of the time cause I was worried I ran out of phlogiston from trying to callibrate my aiming Im lowkey am not having as much fun with Natlan because of this. I feel like they perfected a lot of the exploration in Fontaine that they kinda just made this exploration gimmick in Natlan kinda....rushed is what im feeling ig. Like some things just don't feel as fun as I want them to be.

I got ridiculously lucky and got C1 after one extra ten pull, and honestly....yeah, it sucks that it doesn't fully lift her limitations, but it also does enough that I'm not mad about it. Of course I also only intentionally go after c0 characters, don't watch my damage too closely as long as it 'feels' good(which c1 with double elements does), and mainly pulled her for exploration and a change of gameplay...so I probably just don't have enough skin in the game to care. 5 star cons are kinda scummy bait in general imo.

Honestly, the way Hoyoverse handles Genshin is so unbearably different from ANY of their other games. They actually give 2 dangs and dogs about you in HSR and ZZZ. But here? They don't care. They pretend to and it is so annoying. Is Chasca bad at C0? No, she is amazing (I myself am saving for Mavuika). Is her C1 necessary to make her work? No. But the QoL C1 provides is incredible. But they created a QoL for her C1 in her C2. It's like a slap in the face. Although, as a lot of people pointed out. I must 100% agree that Genshin is not that affected by Power creep even till today. I'm sure Diluc and Keqing can still clear the abyss with proper teams but HSR (a game that came out before a shenhe rerun) is suffering unbelievable power creep. To put it into perspective, Himeko is the only relevant Standard banner character (ironically) due to Pure Fiction alongside Herta (also ironically). Pela and Tingyun are the only usable 1.0 4 star characters and even they have replacements. Fire trailblazer used to be a very useful character now completely useless. Fu Xuan was power crept somehow. E0 Acheron is weaker than E0 Feixiao in Prydwen which caused Acheron mains to break their monitors. If you don't break, or follow up, you're not built for this game. Only 2 viable hyper carries and one of them is stuck with needing 2 Nihilities and the other has no AOE. Dot is in the ditches of hell and so on and so forth. HSR suffers a LOT. Whereas most genshin characters don't.

Counterpoint: Hu Tao has been the best Pyro DPS since Arlecchino and she’s still very viable in the late game content, whereas characters like Jingliu, DHIL and Argenti are starting to show their age in HSR Genshin’s powercreep is significantly slower than HSR’s and potentially ZZZ’s too, so I think it’s kinda fair if they wanna put C2 as the “Benchmark” for your characters, they have a longer shelf life

Because Genshin knows how to balance their units at C0 than other games. Both ZZZ and HSR, you get power creep every patch like literally. The other games are now stuck in a continuous power creep loop, also making a lot of 4 stars redundant. Look at firefly pmost people build her to reach 214 speed in her enhanced form ( 154 out of combat) so she will go 4 times in her enhanced state destroying your skill points . you won't have enough ... unless you get her 1st eidolon/constellation which makes her skill in her enhanced state use ZERO skill points so you are 4 sp up vs someone who is at E0.

I want to say that if they are going to make a constellation that effects a passive like this they should make it effect the entire passive not just splitting the effect into two parts. But in this case you are making it into a much bigger deal than it actually is because the part of her passive that is effected by her C2 isn't that important because from what I understand unlike Neuvillette's A1 passive which is a direct multiplier, Chasca's A1 passive is a DMG% bonus. Her C1 is a significant increase because it changes one of the shots that would have been anemo application into one of the elements that you are running application for and always changes the 4th shell in a double hydro or double pyro team. While her C2 is some aoe and a nice DMG% buff in those same teams. From what I understand of her kit even not having that DMG% buff is made up for entirely by the potential supports you could run like Xilonen. This is annoying because you aren't running the kit at full capacity in certain teams even though those teams as a whole will be better than if you ran 3 different elements but this isn't the biggest deal. Also if they didn't have that part as a part of C2 her C2 would be really bad because her already pretty bloated C1 would become more bloated unless they moved the 2nd shell conversion (that is specifically caused by her C1 not the one related to her passive) to her C2 which would make her C1 significantly worse.

I can explain...but if you don't want to read details, I will summarize. Summary: Her C1 doesn't give the final stack because it would make certain teams just far better than others. She gains certain benefits from the improved chance of bullet conversion as well as the 5th bullet which benefits certain teams more such as double cryo/pyro/hydro melt and vape. I had the same impression as you but after getting extremely lucky with her C1(5 pity), I understand why. Not only does C1 unlock new teams for her but it makes certain teams just better such as double cryo melt or double pyro vape. This is because you are guaranteed five bullets being converted opening the door for DOUBLE MELTS and DOUBLE VAPES for every charge shot. So realistically the only thing you are losing is the final stack from the A2 passive but the consistent melt/vape as well as the guaranteed five bullets more than makes up for it. If you got that final stack at C1, you will no longer have any incentive to use her triple PECH teams again. To give you a demonstration, picture this team: - Chasca, Barbara(ttds), Furina, Bennett Getting both buffs from Furina and Bennett as well as the attack buff from ttds guarantees a lot of damage. To add to that, Barbara also heals the entire party which can give you much more stacks from Furina's burst. All of this while your Chasca is double vaporizing on every shot. I don't think I need to explain why this is leagues better than her current best C0 team with Ororon where you occasionally trigger the less desirable electro charged or overload.

I didn't intend for Chasca, so I left her neglected for now and build Ororon first. After I'm done building him, I'll attend to her next... what are the chances of a 4* getting preferred treatment over a 5* 😂

I get where you're coming from, but look at it from a different perspective. Her C1 allows her to deal more damage types. C2 only then opens up her team comp. She has similar treatment with Xilonen in this case, at C0, they can only be in a multielement team, that's opened up when unlocking cons. Cons are not really needed as their kits are already quite good. if you're nitpicking at C0, just pull C2, end of story.

They need to improve her in a lot of ways. For Wanderer the stamina bar replenish while you're using your ability but for Chasca it doesn't replenish while using ability which is a downside cuz she is supposed to be an exploration unit like Wanderer. What's even the point of putting that restriction it's so stupid Second, her speed burst, it's very very short outside Natlan. They need to make it as long as atleast Natlan when outside Natlan. And this isn't just a Chasca issue but every Natlan character is downright pathethic outside Natlan they need to improve them outside Natlan. Third, need to improve grouping damage for Chasca

The C1 being a half constellation is basically Hoyo giving you more incentive to pay if you have C1 but not C2.

I pulled for Chaska and its fun but we got ourselves the same situation we got with Nahida. I was livid that in order to artificially (fix) the requirement for her bullet buff and to get resonance benefits and extra teammate possibilities all which buff her damage potential, you need her C1. This is such a dumb way to get people to feel Fomo’ed into an extra copy that is insane. Its such scumbaggery. I remember spending around $500 rage pulling trying to C2 and got cucked 3 times. I hate this gacha garbage

If you look at leaks then decide who’s playstyle you enjoy more. People forget to enjoy the game. I love Chasca because I love skill characters and that’s Chascas main kit. So decide for yourself who fits your playstyle more. (If you enjoy the meta, then save for Mavuika)
