Its a China based manufacturer that makes the clippers and sales to companies that put their logo on. Kemei 1986 was the the original about 4yrs ago. Since then its been a ton of China company brand logos on this one. This is still a top 5 budget clipper tho. Caliber is absolutely the same inside out just with click lever. I think I might try this one cause you do pretty thorough, trustworthy reviews. I know a good barber can turn out a spectacular haircut with just about anything that'll cut so my real concerns are build quality and the life span of the internal parts. If you say it's the same as the Caliber minus the click lever I'm getting one. Maybe even two.

@@shazweeb4515 Here I go.My thoughts on this clipper : It's a good clipper. I don't like the 3 hour charging time and the blade is a little thick for a fade blade, but I prefer taper blades anyway. And it does cut good. I never say clippers fade good cause the fade is only as good as the user but the lever doesn't move on its own. I have been spoiled with click levers for decades from my first Andis Master I got back in the early 90s. But it's a fact that a floating lever can turn out sharper fades if you know how to use it cause that fraction of a millimeter between the clicks is eliminated. And it's good in my opinion and some other barbers' opinion to get good with the floating lever first. It's also a little bulky. But it does run for well over 4 hours without a charge, and it's got real good power for thick hair. It got just a little louder over time. That's to be expected but it hasn't lost any power. It doesn't get blazing hot in your hand either. And the display is always good to have. For anyone who doesn't need to spend a lot of money on big name clippers and especially for those just starting out or those who can't afford the big name clippers right away this is the perfect choice. And honestly, if a clipper cuts well, has a sharp blade, and a tight lever that doesn't travel, that is all that matters. More than 90% of the time it's the barber that is the reason the haircut is what it is. For $80 you can get two of these and have one with a fade blade and one with a taper blade and go all day. I use mine MOSTLY on small kids cause you'll be longer if they won't sit still, customers I know don't tip and customers who aren't regular customers of mine that go to any barber available. I will use my more expensive tools if they are my client or another barber out of respect. I won't use my $240 Saber on a brother who won't appreciate it when I'm done or a kid who is gonna make me take close to an hour to cut his hair. I extend the life of my high end tools and they get the exact same finished product. This is a cheap clipper in cost but it doesn't feel cheap or perform like a Wahl or Andis from Walmart. If you like this general shape of clipper with the wider top, it's a good choice whatever your forum, home or shop. It's a long standing fact that we barbers pay a lot of money for our tools because we buy the big names with the fancy features and latest motor tech because we want it. Not because we need necessarily it. There are some pretty good options that let your pockets and your haircuts stay great. God bless, Brother.

The original one was a Kemei back a few years ago. Then a bunch of other Chinese companies started just putting their name on it. Then Caliber did the same many years later. I even stopped a few barbers from buying the 44 fmj. from caliber because I was put on to this model back in 2019. Caliber seems to do this a lot. Just put their name on it and charge 3x as much.

Yeah bro its the same, I already had the kemei and bought the 44fmj cuz i thought it had a more powerful motor but it turned out to be the same on the Kemeis just the click lever and dlc blade

Aye it's crazy I got the 1st edition that comes with trimmers. Purchased while in barbering school when I couldn't afford the bigger brand's. Pretty decent clippers still in rotation even though I've done upgraded with plenty of clippers.

Kemei 86 same thing different name….. But I can say it is the best budget clipper I have ever used. Had my Kemei 86 for 2 years and pushing. Not a bad choice though💯💯💯

I currently have the Taper 2000, Andis MBA Select Cut 21455 & Some cordless Ceenwes which are similar to Surker, Kemei & Limural clippers. I plan to Zero Gap the Andis MBA which has a Steel blade, guess some came with Ceramic ones. The Wahl Taper 2000 I got second hand & it worked for a while but now pulls hair, I did zero gap them but that didn't help. I was thinking about trying to sharpen the blades but I am thinking a better blade swap might do the trick, do you have a blade suggestion? Also I recently purchased the Andis Slimline Pro Li got a great deal as it was only $40 ish shipped new. I also purchased the Philips Norelco 7000 multigroom for my beard on fb marketplace for $30, then I purchased the Philip's 7000/7500 Cordless Electric Shaver w/cleaning pod Gently used for $30 on FB too but I might try flipping em for more on ebay as person paid $200 at bed, bath & beyond. Good thing is the Andis MBA & WAhl Taper 2000 were both free & Cordless Gold Ceenwes with Adj lever only $16 😂 I haven't had my beard or hair cut in 6 months now & I am rough. Maybe I should make a video showing off products. Guess I am having some OCD watching videos & reading reviews for just cutting hair at home 😂 lol O yeah I also have the Wahl Mini Pro corded that I used to use for trimming hair and beard, etc. That was only $15 & surprising works very well. I do have some cheaper Visage trimmers that I got at Aldi but they are pretty much junk & I just usually use them to trim below the Belt line aka Junk as they won't Nick the Olde Coin Purse/Jewels. But I may still buy the Philips Bodygroom 7000 as I heard great things about it. I was still thinking about getting the Wahl Detailer and or Peanut but maybe I already have enough lol. Do you think my setup is good now just for home use & learning? It would be for me & 3 boys. I even have one of those cheap $10 Ceenwes Ceramic clippers that got decent reviews. Wife & kids are now telling me I am crazy. Wife says just go to the barber & pay $20 lol 😂 Well that is my Story. #AdhdProblems

china ignores patents and laws and just copies big brands which is why so many of them look very similar if not identical to other products. often they come from the same factory, just get different logos and tiny differences in looks but are very similar otherwise. it is usually the warranty and customer service that will be very different with these fly by night random named products having basically none. but at $40 you could run through how many of these before hitting the price of a big name brand. even "cheap chinese crap" can be good for the price. chances are they wont last nearly as long though, and may be more prone to setting themselves on fire if you leave them plugged in too long because adding a tiny inline fuse would cost that extra half a cent they just dont care to save.
