1.1 really stepped up on the music side, the new region (the snowy dragon-shaped mountain) not only looks very pretty and better, but the soundtrack there is really nice overall. The main 1.1 mountain quest has soundtrack that really enhanced the experience and the impact on the cutscenes there. I was hoping for this improvement and it's nice to see it actually happening. Hope they will improve more and more in patches to come~

1.1 zones music is incredible. It has a seren, sad feeling when you explore the Mt.Firmament. I would highly suggest you listen to that one as well. It's really magical and nostalgic for some reason. I love it. And _Jue_ bosses theme is incredible. It's majestic. Also, last suggestion, please, please, react to JInshi's Demo trailer. It has very strong Vanguard influence there.

You will definitely like the soundtrack for the final section of the 1.1 update. There are like 3-4 songs where I have the urge to listen them again and again. I never felt this urge in 1.0. I'd say the best soundtracks begin to come up when Jinhsi and Jue finally meet. Just so good.

I liked 1.0 boss themes though, they might not be complex enough for a true music connoisseur but they do set the mood for the fights pretty well, I could listen mourning aix theme on repeat for hours (well, fighting T6 hologram, I actually did) and never grow tired of it

Im a die hard wuthering wave CC but i have to agree with you on this one Marco, the music loops too much but have potential almost as if its not finished nd polished. BUT i recommend you to React to Jinhsi Cinematic Trailer( As Fate Has Decreed) The Music in the middle is soo good, probably my favorite. Its has dynamic and build up and tension

Great analysis Mr. Marco! I prefer this one more than the previous WuWa analysis during 1.0. Your points are more eloquently put and more logical. No generalizations. I love when you micro-analyze the elements of every musical piece and try to explain the intentionality of it. While I have no glaring issues with the 1.0 OSTs save for some, I do agree that they improved a lot in 1.1. I hope with their revenue, they could give us some PGR-level OSTs. 1.1 gave me SUCH PGR vibes i loved it with the music it gave during the cut scenes. IT WAS SO HYPE even in the non action stuff going on and speeches being given BUT hopefully they ise Studio vanguard for extremely important battles in the future But yeah please react to "as fate has decreed" it was really good and with its music. It gave me hope

I feel like most of the music in WuWa spends too much time building a climax and little time delivering that climax. But I am sure they are saving the huge pieces for some climatic battle in the future, just like they did with Hikari/Lamia (which has a nice build with a great payoff).

Love your content, Marco! Much love from my friends who can't access YT from BiliBili! Now onto Wuthering Waves, while I still have things to say about the company's behavior like changing Jiyan's title from 团长(Leader of a regiment) to 将军 (General, or shogun if you know JP), right around the time Jingyuan from HSR bombed the gatcha system, I'm glad to see that they improved the music by a lot and deviated from the classical and mostly orchestral music of Genshin, and leans more toward EDM. I love how grounded Genshin music get me feeling at the end of a rough day, but occasionally you just need that kick. It is always good to see variation in an industry. I really hope they get better, simply because I like having a different world to dive into (with attractive characters of course), and also that I absolutely LOOOOOOVE Changli's design, and feel like it would be a great shame to have her in a musically-mute but otherwise very polished game. Now I just hope they do her justice with some good story. Btw Changli's coming out tomorrow guys, good luck to those pulling!

You're really echoing what Ii felt in regards to the 1.0 songs, I personally find the song on the Norfall Barrens (final unlockable area on the 1.0) OST to be the most interesting in 1.0, but 1.1 definitely is a huge step up, i find the song to have more... direction, especially compared to the previous version

It reminds me to some songs on cyberpunk 2077 where they also have some repetitive loops but also some amazing ones that resonate more depending on where is played on the game, but it shouldn't just rely on that as we have talked before that yes, context is good but doesn't have to be the all regarding to what the music wants to communicate.

Speaking of 'wuthering', a somewhat similar game that has some interesting music is Limbus Company. It takes a lot of influence from literature (overall has elements of the Divine Comedy, and all of the individual characters have their own literary source). The boss themes of Canto 3 through 6 have a lot to unpack, especially Canto 6's theme, "Through Patches of Violet" (based on Wuthering Heights). I don't know if they'd get picked up by Content ID, since they're technically released songs in and of themselves, but I wholeheartedly recommend going through it some day, even if it's just on your own time.

The problem with the early parts of the games music is that they didn't shorten the music to fit a short length boss fight, rather it's essentially the full version you'd hear elsewhere.

I have to say, his initial evaluation of WuWa music was harsh. I agree that it is lacking compared to something like Genshin, but I caught myself really enjoying the city theme and the 1.1 region overworld music for example. They're quite good, I'd even argue.

They had pretty cool music in the closed betas. Why they went with an entirely different composition in tgd final 1.0 release is confusing. Kuro is good at listening to feedback, I think 1.1 is a sign they're definitely trying to improve.

I know this isn't the topic of this video(I didn't know where to suggest this) But I would love to hear your impression of the new Reverse 1999 EP "Salvation".... and perhaps, if you have kept up at all with R:1999 since those streams several months ago, your impression of the newest chapter's usage of Tosca as a sort of backbone to the story... I was personally impressed by the subtle plot twist that was only really noticeable if the player is familiar with Tosca. and maybe an impression of the use of operatic singing in the new character Isolde's gameplay? I thought it was quite unique to use singing as her combat lines. Thanks for the consideration :)

The music is still very very meh to me. Especially it's a game that revolves around "waveforms" even their domain entrances are SPEAKERS. ZZZ had more impactful sound despite being more retro hip-hop/chill out music driven. Every clang of a parry there makes the same sounds in WuWa feel like a wannabe athlete vs an athlete who competes and trains everyday. I do hope they evolve WWs music, it's a far cry from the theme the world builds.

The reason why half of the song of Inferno Rider seemed "pointless" is because it plays throughout that specific area. The level of intensity is based on what enemies you're fighting, with the more laid back but intense part of the track playing when you're against more normal enemies up to bigger enemies, then finally Inferno Rider himself, where the drop part is what plays. The boss fight itself is pretty much of one the easiest and tutorial bosses in the game, so he only get a short heavy part. Instead of a full blown ost like with let's say Dreamless, as that is a specific big heavy boss that's not meant to be an easy tutorial boss, much more comparable to Childe, with Inferno Rider being more comparable to the Hypostasis.

Mt Firmament music is leaps and bounds better than the entirety of the rest of the game. Although some part of it was just emulating the feeling of Dragonspine, which isn't a bad decision but it's funny that the first new zone is just the same as Genshin's

How is Mt. Firmament same as Dragonspine? Dragonspine is just a snowy mountain. Mt. Firmament is a whole Island with Towns and villages even hot springs.

But on top of everything that already made WuWa basically just Genshin; snow zone mountain, giant dragon part of the environment, sudden child vocals in melancholic ost, etc. Also Mondstadt isn't just the nation of wind but of time as well. With both being the first new zone for both games you have to be in hardcore denial to not connect the dots at this point.

Have you considered using the in-game settings menu to adjust the audio to your preferences? I don't mean to be a jerk, but that's what it's there for -- and it's been there since Day One.

@@enutrofdude I did that, but it doesn't help, because the music gets actively muted by the game when your attacks hit to accentuate sound effects. Controlling audio levels does only so much
