While it’s not my favorite Death Battle (though it’s close), I will argue this is one of if not the best Death Battle fight they’ve done. I’m surprised that you knew without doubt that Popeye was going to win. In hindsight the outcome is obvious, but I’ve seen many reactors still side with Saitama due to his overwhelming strength. At least Saitama died happily getting the fight of his life and you gave witnessed the horror that is ripped Popeye! And I know you said this is the most hyped you’ve been, but I think Thor vs Vegeta still holds that title. I mean, you were sweating after all. Also, Death Battle made an official poll for its chamion members. One of their questions was “Your favorite Death Battle reaction for season 9” and I actually said your reaction to Trunks vs Silver. I just thought it was great seeing your first reaction to a Death Battle. while very true that the fight was solidly in Popeye's favor, i am a little tired of the general perception that 4th-wall stuff or Toon Force makes you unbeatable unless the opponent can match the same ability. (then again, the Toon Force matchups chosen by Death Battle so far definitely don't help removing this misconception, so i do not blame you at all) Wally West beat Archie Sonic in a DB despite the latter being aware of the 4th wall, and while he didn't use it for much combatively, it's still a good baseline. There are several popular fan ideas (with actual connections, not counting random matchups), good or not, where a character with that sort of power or vibe that loses to someone either with a much lesser degree of it or none at all, like Skull Kid vs The Mask, Gintoki vs Deadpool, Superboy-Prime vs Gwenpool, or (after Fire Force released) Death The Kid vs Stocking Anarchy. Hell, while definitely debatable, the biggest reason why Donald Duck beats Daffy Duck currently is actually his Kingdom Hearts abilities (which absolutely should be included, and even if you didn't the Donald Duck comics have feats of the same level, KH just helps make them consistent), not any particular Toon Force your Death Battle reactions are really fun, the positivity and interest are a breath of fresh air compared to the average fandom member, i look forward to seeing more! if you're interested in requests to specific episodes, Magneto vs Tetsuo and Harley Quinn vs Jinx are two of the most holistically exciting episodes they've ever made

Well, if you are taking Death Battle reaction requests, I'd like to request Dio vs Alucard. One of my all time favorites and it's the episode that got me to watch both Hellsing and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

On the whole Saitama platueing this was done before saitama's true abilities and power got revealed which was that he didn't platue like he thought and in fact not only is he still growing he can exceed his own power by wide margins very quickly to the point that the guy he was fighting who had the ability to copy his power and could also adapt and grow quickly couldn't even keep up. It's jus t that no one in the series was strong enough to be at near his level to see this growth. He also can copy techniques even if he doesn't understand them which at first seem to be just him copying using his pure strength and speed but later he copies literal powers which made him manipulate his body to go backwards in time. Now I do agree the verdict of Popeye winning thought they are inconsistencies times with similar characters who broke the 4th wall. Using gag characters will most times go in their favor depending on how far they can go with it. But funny enough with the recent feats in the manga the stuff Saitama did during the death battle is what he can canoncially do.
