I'm an Air BNB host. Get some makeup towels. Charge them for the smoke scent left behind. Get an ozone cleaner to rid the house of the smell.

I managed 2 VRBO rentals for about 5 years and the conclusion I came to was to leave a small pack makeup remover wipes in the bathroom so they don't use the white towels. You also want to leave renters essentials like toilet paper, liquid hand soap, dish soap, kitchen sponge, paper towels, access to a vacuum. That way they are more likely to clean up after themselves and not make such a mess with their dirty fingers lol

Charge them for the smoking. At a hotel, they would charge you. They would also charge incidentals for the towels.

No doubt to charge them and that is horrible reference the towels. I will say that my family was going to get a vacation rental in the blue ridge mountains this summer, but when I saw the fees, specifically the cleaning fee, I decided not to do that. When my family has stayed at a residence in the past, we leave it as clean as when we arrived. I can understand why the fees are there, which are to cover for people like this, but that fee also makes people steer towards a hotel rather than a nice home. Also, I agree, “my house, my rules.” If someone does not like it, don’t rent the house.

I would charage for the towels, maybe in an emergency 3 4 or even5 towels could be destroyed, but 20 towels is some next level stuff. But not 300, prob just 100.

People can be such pigs! Vent all you’d like; I don’t know how you deal with it 😮My hubby’s family owned a motel for a number of years. I could never imagine someone doing these things 🙄 They’d steal anything not nailed down. My FIL would ask them “where are you going with my stuff?) My poor hubby had to clean up all kinds of disgusting items. Don’t these people have any self respect? 🤷🏼‍♀️

It is in my house, and we specifically target families. I don't want kids finding stuff in the yard. Also, if you smoke on the deck, you are likely bringing the small right back inside with you.
