For many years my parents did the stockmen’s bar and catering, most of the time the place was ready to explode, but as soon as the Welsh voices broke what a united front. PASSION, SO MUCH PASSION! Great day out for all, stock lines, showering, shearing, forestry and lumber jacks, fly fishing, shooting, tractors and horses. Watching the shearing is unbelievable. Great coverage Tom

hi nice to speak to you in the shearing in the morning I said how much you and your father remind me of the relationship I had with mine with the arguments etc but also being given the freedom to make my own mistakes as we were such good friends he was always the first to say its good to be busy but its good to get away too. I have to say we go round a lot of the shows over the year and have to say the unique selling point of the welsh more so than any other is the multi generations at it, it really is such a family show hopefully you do get the time to spend more there next year the atmosphere on the cattle lines of an evening is amazing

That sheerings something else. Those ear tags and recorders should really help track the new beef cattle. This’ll be real interesting to follow.

I can see why some would use the auto draft. Speed things up especially if you are setting it up so it can be worked by a single person. Sorting cattle to go, splitting groups etc hole keeping them moving. If you plan on using staff instead , fair enough. Great stuff on the Welsh 👍

The more accurate data, that can be collected and organized by current computers with AI apps, the better a livestock producer can fine tune their decisions. Often, real profits can only be appreciated in some of the most mundane of data. Weight gains vs cost of feeding seems the most critical margins to keep track of. I can well imagine why Tom is is looking for the best tools to achieve his new goals to produce beef and make a profit.

Living in Japan, I haven't been to the Royal Welsh in years. It is a wonderful show. As a Welshman, it was nice to see the show and to hear our national anthem being sung. I think we are probably the only country in the world where the singers harmonise their national anthem. The land of song and of shearers it seems!
