lmao good for him, this entire story was maddening. I will never say "merry Christmas" to anyone specifically to spite OP.

Dude the actual crazy thing was someone in the comments on that video saying how the waiter should have said merry christmas so the mom wouldn’t cause a scene or something along those lines like ???

I kinda like seeing this him way to be honest. If I was reading it myself I probably would have reacted the same way. Ive never worked in a restaurant but I did work in a pharmacy (once upon a time like courtney did lol) during the holiday season and I would not wish that hell upon my worst enemies. Watching someone getting so pissed because other (religious) people treat others as subhuman especially during the holiday season is ✨✨✨✨

I work at a restaurant, and it can be so infuriating sometimes. As a Christian OP Is “ The A”. The restaurant I work at is closed onChristmas, but not everyone’s boss or store owner does so. It is actually rare for someone to close for a holiday it seems. You want to go have lunch with your mom on Mother’s Day? Not most service workers,it is their busiest day. Want to spend time with family in 4th of July? No can’t do that. The restaurant I work at is the busiest from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. People like OP should Definitely work a day in our shoes.

On that note, I am kinda curious what a truly pissed off Shayne is like. He's generally a pretty positive guy, all laughs and jokes, and even when he does get angry you can tell it was more akin to frustration than outright anger.

It may not just be a holiday to someone, but genuinely I’m not tryna say “merry Christmas” to a person who celebrates Kwanzaa or Hanukkah, or any of the other 5+ holidays that happen during the Christmas holiday season. Sorry. Be mad and never think about me again, I promise it won’t hurt 😂

yeah. and the waiter might have been serving for the whole day and saying happy holidays is just safest bet

@@monkebrainiac exactly. And it’s not a hard and fast rule, you can greet/say bye to people however you want as long as it’s not actually rude while you’re on the clock. But most often than not, anyone working a customer service area is gonna say happy holidays. She wouldn’t have thrown that fit at a store (hopefully) considering she can obviously see she’s not the only one or the only type of person buying stuff. Even though it’s everywhere, I feel like restaurant people expect to be the main attention of the waitstaff and it’s actually bonkers.

The fact that he got more mad about this than the sawdust story-

relating to a story affects the reaction

@@monkebrainiac true. I also relate to it, being an ex-Christian who left because I noticed how toxic a lot of the Christians I knew behaved. I guess the sawdust story just really got to me, as someone with mild body image issues.

Its just funny that she was so offended by people not saying "Merry christmas" when "Happy Hanukkah" has never crossed her mind.
