This is actually a great idea. As a grad student in medicine, I find it hard to find a reliable source of experts (in a podcast fashion) talking about medicine without having to worry if what they are saying are all clinical-based medical facts (and not just saying things to promote themselves or products). It'll be a nice relief hearing from a trusted professional such as yourself

Whether it's through a satirical or genuine lens, you always come across as authentic. You put it out there, and I value and appreciate that. That said, how will you ever top "anesthesia has a department meeting?"

As a resident, a lot of what you put out there got me through some tough times man. Now as an attending, I'm learning a lot from your psych videos which I've given me some new perspective and new things to think about. I'm really looking forward to you maturing into your role. It would be an honor to have someone like you as a colleague.

Man, I will 100% tune in to your podcast. I am a clinical chaplain who bases his pastoral/spiritual interventions upon evidenced based research. My favorite people to work with are psych folks! Please please please incorporate the various impacts (positive and negative) that faith and religion have on mental health. My whole paradigm for chaplaincy ministry is based in Murray’s Family Systems Theory. I have also come to believe that many (not all) mental illness issues stem from generational family issues and I would LOVE to hear your take on how family impacts mental health as well. The mind, heart, body, and soul all have an intersection and I pray that you will help us find just where that is!! Thanks for your content, I have enjoyed it and will continue to as you change!

As someone who has followed you back in the "When you're with the _______ resident" series and watching all of the psych stuff coming out lately, I've really grown to truly appreciate what psych is about and how you are such a damn good educator. I'd love to listen to you on a podcast and I cannot wait to see something like this. I know you're nervous, but I have a huge amount of respect for you and your content because you've also helped me in my own job in healthcare to understand my patients better (long-term care facility in a secure facility). It means a lot to me!

My brother had medication resistant depression. He did 6 IV Ketamine treatments at a clinic out of pocket and it saved his life. I'm a CRNA and had to convince him to try it. He thought it was a party drug initially. He couldn't get out of bed and didn't see the point of even living. He now owns a home and has been working for the past four years. Now on Abilify. Thank you for all you do Preston.

Super excited for this! I appreciate your style of simplifying complex things without dumbing them down. If you’re taking requests, I’d love a dive into gero-psych. I think geriatrics in general is not discussed enough, and gero-psych in particular is rarely considered, even though our older adult population is growing. (If it’s not obvious, I work with older adults….and somehow people forget that young folks with mental illness grow into old folks with mental illness…then add cognitive decline and dementia 🤯. As a society, we’re not doing a great job supporting these people).

Hey, I’m a big fan of your channel. I’m a veteran, dad and nursing student. I wanted to offer myself as a guest if you need a patient for Either depression or Polydrug addiction. For your podcast could you consider to have a psych pharmD and/or a deep discussion on pharmacologic therapy and step wise fashion for adding medications from a Psychiatrist? I find this to be a super challenging topic when psych rolls by on our IM patients and adds new medications that ... probably make sense but I don't think I always have a clear understanding on why they picked one drug over another other than the more obvious side effect profiles. - your friendly neighborhood hospital pharmacist
