Hey Denise! Thanks for sharing. I've been doing my nails like this since January when I finally ordered some of your recommendations. I do have some toenails but they don't grow in all the way due to a procedure I had. So this helped me alot. Its so satisfying popping off the dual form and seeing a full toenail. Mine last anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks so far. Im still practicing so these videos help alot.

Does it burn your big toes when curing? These turned out great, but I know what you mean about trying to find the right nail bed color. I've bought based on the pictures, only to have them arrive too dark, purple, orange, or warm toned. I'm looking for a neutral/slightly cool-toned pale pink. I've come to the conclusion that I need to mix my own & write down the recipe. If you come up with some recipes, please share so that we can test the results & see which one works for us (for toenails or fingernails). Love your experiments - thanks for sharing!🧡

@Denisejohn65NailEd4 жыл бұрын
If the nail bed has shrunk to a small size , it’s very hard to get the nails to stay . Another tip is to not file the rough skin much . Because it’s helps the gel to have something to hold on too .

Some people are just not good candidates for these type of toenails. If you are missing toenails , you can’t have a nail bed that is very small and shrunk up. You will have a hard time ever getting a toenail to stay in place . what type of light are you using to cure the gel? You have to have a strong lamp to cure the gel not some cheaper lamp
@Leslie_ann_h4 жыл бұрын
The toenails that you are making for the nailbeds are actually serving a medical purpose for you. I myself made the choice to have my big toenails removed. I made my choice because while I like my podiatrist (who I now only verbally report to him for the status of my feet as I am a diabetic but fortunately have hypersensitive feet and skin which was adding to the problem for why I opted to have my nails, well nail plate removed) I was really getting sick of seeing him to have ingrown and impacted nails removed quite often. But what then happens to about ½ the patients who have the nail plate removed must or choose to have a further surgical procedure done to round the bone off of the toe as bones in the digits (feet and nails) are pointed. So, as we have come full circle, you are actually making fake nails that are serving a medical purpose for you as the nail you are making is actually protecting the pointy tipped bone in the toe. I am not sure if you are a diabetic, but you are ultimately saving yourself (while it's a simple procedure) a potentially risky surgery on the bone in the toe. Risks of the surgery include infection of the bone, infection of the skin, a chronic wound that may not heal as well as the risks from anesthesia even though that is typically only twilight or conscious sedation and a heavy local or regional block. I myself have made an acrylic cap that is in 4 pieces that I just tape together on the outside to protect my toe. It's ugly but I wear socks at nearly all times and thus the cap is in place at nearly all times. I only remove them for showers.
@Denisejohn65NailEd4 жыл бұрын
I would actually question the Validity in what this foot doctor told you about the toe poking through skin . I think that’s maybe a Procedure that he’s telling people to have done to drum up business . Never in my life have I ever heard of that . I know many and I mean many people who had their large toenails removed and no one has ever had that done . It’s never been mentioned until I read it here . I don’t think you have anything to worry about . Your bone will not poke through . Maybe you need a second opinion . I don’t believe everything I hear .
@foreverjennicole4 жыл бұрын
I actually saw some video on the toe bone being removed here on YT. It was accidental because i wouldnt have ever chosen to watch it if I knew how disgusting the video was going to be 🥴 its just very graphic.
@Denisejohn65NailEd4 жыл бұрын
Unless someone is having a major issue with their toe bone the Procedure is not done very often at all . ( never heard of it ) Thousands upon thousands of people have their large toenails removed all the time . You think if it was a issue they wouldn’t be removing large toenails at such a high rate .
@Leslie_ann_h4 жыл бұрын
@@Denisejohn65NailEd the shape that is at the end of digits (fingers and toes) are pointed. The nail plate (the hard portion of the nail) is what keeps us from feeling that portion of the bone (most of the time) unless you stub a toe (the pointed part of the bone causes the pain when one stubs a toe, granted the same can be done on a finger that either has an overlay or no enhancement). When people who have their nails removed (typically done as a prevention means to prevent reoccurring ingrown nails that often lead to infections, especially among the diabetic community) they then loose that protection for that pointed part of the digit (toe in this case). The population that typically ends up needing the surgery to lightly round off the very tip is done to help reduce pain should the person stubs their toe w/o a nail plate is often of the diabetic community. Granted they must get clearance for the surgery with ultrasound studies to verify the status of their blood flow to the toe as diabetics are at a higher risk of having a post procedural infection (diabetics often are associated with having blood flow issues due to the amount of time with high sugars or if their blood sugar levels are uncontrolled which destroys blood vessels). This is likely the reason for not hearing about this procedure being done as it ends up helping with nerve pain from the tip of the toe no longer being protected as the procedure is typically only done on those of the diabetic population (of which I am apart of).
@Denisejohn65NailEd4 жыл бұрын
Yes , diabetics have more problems with healing etc . In reality , if the toenails keep getting infected from ingrown toenails it’s in the best interest to have the toenail removed . Especially for diabetics . Why risk loosing all the toes or possibly half the foot due to an infected toenail ? That risk could also happen to people without diabetes as well . People can live without toenails .
