I would buy many of them too, especially Volvo 740 because to me the whole shape of the car is something that isn't seen in the newer cars anymore and propably will never be, nowadays every car is so rounded and harder to work on while volvos are more like moving bricks that don't break and very easy to work on

The "alarm" sounds are probably just the Sony Headunit you have there, almost every Sony headunit does that sound after you put the ingition on off position

Because they are awesome fun for us all to watch you skid, drift, jump, shred, rip, and grind gravy into- of course! Berrymans b-12 spray cans , and or spray cans of oven cleaner will clean those oil stains up with a little bit of grind with flat broom after about 10 minutes of soak., just to SHOW good faith with your higher expectation neighbors. Or dish soap and or clothes soap granules for abrasive.. Congrats on the new Moose Gravy box!

Journal bearing turbos need a restricter also. Turbonetics turbos are journal bearing and come with a restricter. In fact it is marked so that if you take it out the warranty is void. Lots of arguments about this. This is why so many cheap turbo end up blowing.

The immobilizer sound you mentioned is just the sound of old Sony radio's remove the faceplate of radio and it won't make the sound anymore.

Nice find, stock up while you can! When you find "your car" you can never really have enough of them, of course you're gonna accrue some haters like Sloppy Garage and Ford Fairmont's "Oh you're making the prices go up". Thing is, you're paying asking price for them, and if anyone else wants one but don't bother enough with finding one before prices go up = They didn't REALLY want a cheap one in bad condition all that much after all, did they? Why aren't they ON facebook marketplace and craigslist if they REALLY want one? Answer → Because they rather fry their brains on their TikTwit or w/e, so IMO that's on them. I don't think haters understand that these Volvo's require WORK to function a-ok again. The haters expect 500 bucks to get them a perfect missile that doesn't require any maintenance = NOT how it works, so that's why they lodge their complaints here.

What oil do you like to run? I am about to buy a 92 740 turbo wagon I had a NA 93 240DL I ran Mobil 1 5w30 and is still running for an ex of mine at over 300k miles

Only the best is good enough for my 940 turbo. I use Castrol edge supercar and I change it when it gets black.

I would assume the price difference. Hes up on canada, so I cant really speak for them, but I'm about 100 miles from the Canadian border, and 240's and 242's are anywhere from 3-6k running and driving. Where as the 740's you can find all day for 700-$1000

The later the model, the more of the body is made of galvanised steel. A late 940 will hardly ever have any serious rust. Many people call them tanks but did you know a 940turbo is actually lighter then a BMW E34 535i ! They are NOT heavy cars.

@@jfv65 I totally won a bet against a kid with a stanced 240SX on who's car weighs less. My 16v swapped 240 wagon with the rear seats removed, AC delete, E-fan, decent 17" wheels and otherwise a full interior was only 2850lbs vs 3000 and change for the 240SX.

check your wiring. Mine was doing something similar and mechanics replaced the distributor twice. Happened again and I asked them about wiring. The plug at the distributor was in bad shape. I'm replacing the harness now. Hopefully that's it.
