I’ve been diagnosed with Scurvy, a severe Vitamin C deficiency. It is rare in the United States and we are all still trying to figure out how it happened since my diet includes fruits and vegetables. I’ll try to unpack it for you in this video but this is probably the beginning of a series, My Scurvy Diagnosis and Recovery.

Omg I have never ever ever found someone else with 100% what I’ve dealt with on and off I feel like I could cry. About to binge watch your videos for more information and help on things I can bring to my doctors attention going forward on my journey. I too was diagnosed with scurvy! I felt so alone for awhile because there’s no resources online with a face that is personal and a story that is personal and you’re finally that!

Oh my goodness Elaine, that is so surprising! My first thought was, I hope it’s not because your body is not absorbing it. Praying they get the answer quickly. I have to take high doses of vitamin D when mine gets low, and when my geographic tongue is messed up, I know I’m sick. It’s like a thermometer telling me something is wrong. So weird 👅 Praying they get your vitamin C up and you to feeling like yourself again soon gf!! 🫶🏻

I'm anemic due to Iron malabsorption and have been getting infusions for years. It seems like it would have to be an absorption issue. Hopefully, they gave you a liposomal Vitamin C.

I have a feeling it is an absorption issue too! I’ve been taking the prescription so we’ll find out soon. ❤️
