MY cousin and I bought BMW F650 GS's to do the Transamerica Trail. Unfortunately a small accident took me away from the ADV sport, but it did lead me to overlanding. I am hoping in a year or two my ankle will be strong enough to give it another go. What you just did looks like way too much fun for one person. Keep up the good videos.

I can drive manual but somehow I’ve never been motor bike inclined, whether it’s a motorcycle or a dirt bike. I could take the time to learn, but to avoid time for a learning curve, I have driven ATVs before. Could this strategy work with a small ATV too you think? David, did you ever figure the glitches you were having with the Bronco when you towed the tallboy? I know the brakes and pin Mammoth are checking out, but any of the Bronco checks pop back up?
@OFFTHEGRIND5 ай бұрын
So the brakes was just because the brake controller itself failed. The wiring on the bronco and the tallboy were good. I replaced the controller module and had brakes again. The error codes never came back. I think it’s because the air filter backs out of the box that it sits in (moshimoto CAI) and lets a ton of hot engine air in. I sealed it as best I could but also order a K&N cold air intake cause it’s was better and sealed well

1. I'm 52 with a dog. Neither one of us should be going down an icy ladder at 2am. 2. Coffee in bed? Good luck climbing back up that wet ladder half-awake at 5am. 3. In an emergency, I can drive off in like 10-15 seconds without an entire camp tied to my Bronco. 4. I can take a short drive while camped... yet still remain "camped". 5. My two Oztents pack up faster than most rooftop tents. 6. High winds are no fun if you're inside of a kite that's already 8 feet off the ground. 7. Rolling my Bronco while out alone doesn't leave me homeless. Related: lower center of gravity. 8. Lightning. I was hit by lightning 3 years ago. 0/10, would not recommend. 9. No additional vehicle height while traveling. I know it's just a few inches, but just like some women, I've been screwed by just a few inches. It's a thing, and it sucks. 10. Downside: you'll have to annoy people by telling them how cool you are, because they can't just look at the rooftop tent and know that you've checked all the "overlanding" "must-haves". Come on people, the homeless do what we do. My great-grandfather crossed the desert states on a horse 150 years ago with just a bedroll and a canteen. Too bad he didn't have a GoPro. We aren't that cool. Just go explore, live your life, and chill.

@@OFFTHEGRIND dude, I was doing this before the term was "invented" and you grew that beard. I was just throwing out that not everyone needs to follow the current "necessary" trends. Someone's answer is seldom everyone's answer. I know that you have sponsors to defend, so I get it.

@@JasonSmith-gq4hb I’ve never told anyone what the correct solution is. Just a heads up that Lake will be shut down to motorized vehicles soon. The lake to the west of there was July 20th, 2023. Please do not blow up this spot! Also FYI there is no single track trails there, so I advise not making videos showing you riding on none single track trails with a bike. DNR/FS do in fact watch these type of videos, and will use them as evidence to close the area down. ~Cheers
