Your future is most important. As a masters graduate (although not in a comparable field) I can tell you that it is important to use everything in your disposal to be able to do work you like in the future. I didn't do it enough so I have to get their with more steps. Use KZbin as your portfolio, don't care about the subscribers. But lastly I want to give you a tip. Don't stress too much. Have fun too otherwise you will regret. Even though I am now on a road that takes a bit longer to do what I want, I don't regret all the time I spent with friends :).
