This is interesting. It's like a focused management game that sorta plays like a rogue-lite in that you have shorter levels to conquer in the campaign and move on to the progressively more complicated new cities. What do you think? Leave me your thoughts below!
@sorrowinchrist33872 жыл бұрын
This game will get very boring after awhile since its more puzzle then city builder. Its need to be like games such as transport fever 2. Instead of transport its power which will be so much better! City automatically builds and you need to provide power as it grows and demands get harder. Steam sales are positive but feel sad it went down this direction instead other people are also saying they dont see hope for this game in the long run cause of this. Please urge them to change direction!
@CharliePryor2 жыл бұрын
@@sorrowinchrist3387 I’m not going to urge them to change direction. They’ll make their game, their vision, it doesn’t have to “be like ____” or anything else. While I have my little gripes (like progression for sandbox locked behind campaign), ultimately, a game is always subjective, and the best ones will be games where developers focus their vision and form THEIR game. Can’t make everyone happy.

It's only letting you place the power plants in certain spots, because it has to be close to a water source for cooling and steam generation. You can see the info box there at 10:08. Cities could spawn at those spots but not likely around where the little 1x1 water supply is.

If not for cooling and steam, for them to work optimally. Windmills on flat lands for least disrupted winds, sunniest part of map for solar, etc. If I am not mistaken, diesel generator is the only plant that can be placed anywhere.

I’m getting a tankless water heater installed in my home today. Costs twice as much, will work a lot better with 2X duration of warranty. Sometimes, costs are treated like investments. If they’ll pay for themselves over time, it actually costs less than that which won’t.

@@CharliePryor Another example is a dual-speed AC. Since at half the speed (1/2 strength), the AC uses just 1/4 the electricity, so it can use full strength to get it to the target temp, and 1/2 strength to keep it there! On average, it pays for it’self in electricity savings in a year.

@@CharliePryor no point in spending billions on "winterization" for a one in a million storm tho : / it wasnt the cold per se it was the fact that it got BRUTALLY cold when 1 or 2? major plants were currently down for maintenance. Remember that first power generator - diesel engine. That produces low power and has a high cost/megawatt, but has no ramp-up time and low buying cost - perfect for a backup generator.
@RontoGoldlust2 жыл бұрын
The green areas that allow you to place a power plant do not give any clue as to where a city will later be built. Different types of power plants will need to be placed in different locations. Most fossil fuel plants will need to be placed close to water, like the one you placed. Photovoltaic plants will need plenty of light, and wind mills will need to be up high.

This game dosen't have central heating as thing, so the process needs cooling water. :) IRL in Denmark, we use big industrial heatpumps to condense the steam and make central heating for the city.
