I'm sure some exceptions will pop up during the year, something stunning and just too good to pass up but these are the luxury items that I either need to stop buying in 2024 or certain things I need t o think about/focus on when it comes to my luxury purchases...ENJOY!

I'm limited by space, not physically but mentally. All this stuff takes up too much space in my head at some point. That point was last year. And since I'm an addict I declared a moratorium on shopping for 6 months. Lately Ive been buying what I absolutely need. It's a discovery process because this time has perfectly coincided with my tastes changing. But I stil llke shopping and showing outfrits from your closet works great too.

We love this conscientious shopping era for her! My shopping habits this year is definitely on investing in quality basic pieces. For a long time, it was the other way around - quality statement pieces, cheaper basics. But I find myself gravitating and appreciating a lot more luxurious fabrics and cuts for my everyday basics!

Gurl! I feel you on all of this. I flat put myself on a no buy this year after realizing I seriously started to buy every color epi speedy 25 ever made. I had to look at my eBay list and ask whats wrong with the one I've got?! I couldn't answer it! I have gotten lazy lazy lazy when it comes to using my wardrobe as well. Too often I find myself shopping for this event or that date or that meeting etc. ummmmmmm again whats wrong with what I've got? You are the first person that has openly said they do not need the A - Z of Birkin bags. To be honest you can only carry one bag at a time anyway. Covid for me made me realise that I do not need stuff. Working at home meant I was wearing comfy clothes. I went to the states after 4 years of not travelling and only then did I buy new clothes. I buy good quality once a year and piece of expensive jewellery as a treat once a year on my birthday. No bags as I have quite a few designer bag I have rarely used. Shoes only if I need them, a coat once every 4 - 5 years and give the old one to charity. About to do a major declutter this week.

Can I give advice?😁 The body will change and the size will no longer fit. Even with rigorous diet restrictions. I recommend using your blazers, enjoying them. It’s sad when you hold on to things, only to sell them with never wearing them! Time goes fast… 🥳enjoy your clothes… and your bags.💕

A great general rule is if we give away or sell an item from our wardrobe then we can replace it with a new or similar item. This keeps us aware of how much we consume and mindful of the landfill issue that is on going due to excessive consumerism. The mantra from Vivienne Westwood "Buy Less, Choose Well, Make it Last. Quality rather than Quantity" is a outlook we should all adopt.

When I was younger I wanted everything! Unfortunately, at that time, my rent and car payment took the lion’s share of my paycheck, but that didn’t curb my voracious drive for stuff. Now, my financial situation is vastly different and yet I find myself wanting less and less. I’ve become more thoughtful and deliberate with my purchases. It also helps that I know my style and what I will and will not use. I’m not spending less money necessarily, but I am buying fewer things. I no longer force myself to buy things just for the sake of buying. Honestly, it’s a relief. ❤️

Cassie…it has been a full year for me now on my luxury journey! I have a relative that loves luxury too… she has some Gucci pieces that she bought when she was single that I love! She married my nephew two years ago. They both are successful careers…The newlyweds had a great first year, and now they are expecting a baby girl in March. They were living in a tiny apartment, so they bought a house with a huge mortgage. (They live in California). They have two cars that are not family friendly. They are in love and excited to be homeowners and parents. She still wears nice clothes and wears her Gucci bag and shoes, but…there’s no new luxury purchases in the near future. Priorities change when she married and started a family!😊

I have a puffy coat infatuation as well. Last year I was trying to buy an orange one and I was so sad I couldn’t get it in my size. This year I've been pregnant so that has changed my needs and style. I said I wouldn't buy clothes that I would only wear a few times. But I had a wedding and ended up spending about 250 on accessories and also bought two pairs of shoes cause I did need comfort. Other than that no bags because I think I'm going to be a crossbody medium to large bag gal now but unclear yet and most of my bags are top handle. So sometimes life changes and it makes sense to not buy everything anew until the transition settles. If you're thinking of babies after marriage it helps having a phylosophy before getting pregnant on wether you want to spend on maternity wear or not (might make sense if you want more than one unlike me) now no pressure at all. I have been married 13 years before this first baby by choice so I enjoyed my couple only life quite a lot. I'm only mentioning it because it's been the experience of 2023 for me and 2024 will be a big change with a tiny human as well so I'm at a buying limbo currently and wanna wait until I feel more settled in my new lifestyle

I'm on a strict no-buy in 2024. I have 7 pair of Birkenstocks (which I love BTW) and 8 Veronica Beard Blazers and saving up for the Millar Dickey in Navy and Black with Silver Buttons. I have to be stopped. I too have 4 Black Blazers (different fabrics - wool, linen, cotton blend, wool blend) all of which are tailored and I found myself getting into oversized Blazers and browsing The Frankie Shop website. I own a home in TX, these too much room. I had to sit down.

Great video! Personally, I want to become more content with what I already own. I think being stuck in the cycle of always wanting something can lead to feelings of dissatisfaction. That being said, I’m adopting an “either or” mentality too and prioritising items I’ll get the most wear out of, e.g buying everyday jewellery pieces instead of handbags or evening dresses that can be worn more than once.
