I personally just feel sad for what has happened to you guys, especially to those who have followed you from the start, I am one of them. I guess with Jon's video it gave me the impression that you were just trying to be strong, but I don't see you as happy with what's happened. I guess no one will be happy being apart from someone who you loved for 11 years. Don't worry about what people say; none of us really knows what goes on in your house or between the two of you. Having been a long-time watcher of the vlog I have gathered you are a tough cookie and you've never been a person who is super emotional. For example, if I were to go off of just your videos and feedback, I'd think giving birth is not that bad, it's nothing to be too scared of - which, watching other vloggers, I know it's not the case. But that's just Janni, she's tough and she can handle it. That's what I saw in the last video too, strong Janni, the show must go on Janni. The misogyny and sexism in the last video was insane! Just because you are a woman you are immediately blamed for Jon being sad, you are accused of cheating, you are called a bad mother and a gold digger while Jon is branded as the good father and man who always supported his wife… Absolutely no basis or evidence for any of these characterisations other than “Janni looked so happy about this and she talks so much, wont let Jon speak”…. Janni is Scandinavian and in Scandinavian cultures, people aren't encouraged to express their emotions and to communicate emotions with others. Scandinavian cultures value a practical approach over an emotional one. Expressing emotions tends to be considered as a lack of efficieny and productivity or simply put, as uncomfortable. Scandinavian cultures are somewhat opposite to the Mediterranean and Latin cultures which feel comfortable with expressing emotions and passion. Being a big fan Janni's and Jon's for years, I have the impression that they both seem 'very Swedish' although they've been living for years in Mediterranean cultures. I can tell the difference as I was raised within a culture that is similar to the Swedish one, and I have also lived in South Europe for years. It appears that a lot of viewers aren't acknowledging the culture aspect when judging Janni's level of grief about their divorce. First of all, Janni seems indeed a positive-thinking, upbeat and productive person. But compared to other public figures or influencers, I have never experienced her as particularly emotion-driven and overtly passionate. Second, although we're Janni fans, we don't know her personally. We only have a limited view of who Janni is and of her life overall. Also, influencers show largely the positive sides of their lives which 'sell' because that's their profession, one that helps them support themselves and their families, and that makes complete sense. We need to please be respectful of that. Moreover, Janni is a responsible and accountable person. She isn't an influencer who will sob about mental health in front of the camera because that's just not her thing. Let's all please respect everyone's individuality. ♥️ Janni, be true to who you are and to your needs. You and your children are the most important people in your life now. Exactly! But an average viewer probably has very little cultural awareness and psychological knowledge. The short answer is sexism and men's expectation for a woman to behave a certain way. If Jon didn't look sad, it would be fine for his viewers because he is a man *sigh*. If Janni smiles more in a video about divorce/breakup, the sexist men will use this against her accusing her of being a bad mother who wants to split the family - all the consequences of sexist men expecting women to be emotional in front of a camera, doing everything for a family to stay together (even sacrificing her happiness), etc. This is insane because it is pretty obvious if you watch Janni's vlogs and IG stories that she devotes all her time to her children, although she can afford a nanny 24/7. I know we only see a portion of their life but I think it's safe to say that she cares about her children more than anything, so I can only imagine how painful it was for her to read nasty comments about being a bad mom who wants to get laid. :(((

Being a parent is not about being "happy" and being a good parent certainly does not involve putting your own "happiness" above the welfare of your children. If Janni did actually get a nanny for her children 24/7 so she could be more "happy" .... as you said yourself that would indicate she is not very devoted to her children. Any sane parent who isn't forced to hire a nanny in order to work at their job would obviously take care of their child themselves. The sad thing is that now that they are divorced, the children are spending less time with each of their parents, less time with each of their families, and even spending more time apart from their own sibling. That is a huge sacrifice that the children are being forced to make, so I should hope that they are not doing all this just for the sake of one person's "happiness" as you put it. It's really none of our business and of course the people who left those nasty comments were very cruel and unbelievably rude. However, making the decision to end this decade long relationship after a marriage and children is extremely grave and Janni even said that she understands why people saw her video as tone-deaf. People have also seen hundreds of hours of Jon's vlogs and the way that he treats Janni over the many years that he has been vlogging, and they understandably believe that he was an extremely gracious and caring husband to Janni. So, sure some of comments were likely sexist, but I believe many were just plain insensitive and thrown off by the tone of Janni's beachside announcement of her divorce...

I’m sorry, I obviously don’t know the entire story, but The last 15 yrs I’ve been dating single mothers. All educated, all had a dream of a family and a husband that provided for them while they stayed home for a few yrs. And I ask every one of them the same question. Why did you leave? And I have never heard one good reason for them doing what they did to their husbands and and children. Not one good reason. It’s always, “we felt more like friends” or “ he works too much” So basically, I don’t trust them not to get bored with me 5 yrs from now and I move on. Then, now they are approaching 50, and still single. Plenty of bad guys out there ladies, when you find a good one, honest and loyal, think carefully.

Hi Janni, being a full time parent is the biggest grow proces you can do and it is the hardest. The kids trigger all day long the pain inside of us that we cannot see. The kids keep triggering them till we cannot bear it anymore and we see that we need to heal our pain. And this is possible! You gave a good example by all the mess children make during the day. You learned to deal with it. The hardest part are their emotions, because our emotions were suppressed as a child, so we don't know how to handle it. Aletha Solter wrote books that can help you greatly with that. You take your responsability with your children, that is so powerful. It is beautiful to see that you and Jon are still hanging out, you will get through this with a beautiful future in front of you. All the best!

I started watching Jon's videos cause it was a fun escape watching his blessed lifestyle....living in Monaco, cars, yachts, travel, parties, products, shopping, food....it was so great. I just hate that you feel the need to explain. It's absolutely terrible that (some) people feel they have the right to judge how others should react in their own situation.
