Biggest disappointment of the solo overland expedition across Africa so far. Violent riots are taking place in the North West part of the Rwanda, exactly where I'm heading to. The Eastern Africa region is definitely getting more complicating. The border officer only gave 14 days to my Toyota Hilux Rafiki that I'm trying my best to extend so I can wait for the riots and protests to calm down. Let's see if it works out...

Sorry you had those issues regarding health and the lack of campsites which prevented you from fully enjoying your time in Rwanda. Hopefully you can visit Rwanda again at a future time where you can have a better experience without any problems. It's also a pity you had to leave now as well since the commemorations for the genocide against the Tutsi will be beginning soon for this month of April, and it's a significant year since it'll be the 30th anniversary. As an American of Rwandan descent (both parents are from Rwanda) its so interesting to see your journey in Rwanda and Africa, and I've enjoyed watching your videos. You are quite an exceptional person with an adventurous and generous spirit. If you ever decide to visit the United States in the future and go on a road trip on the East Coast, please let me know. It's crazy if you feel sick that it lasts forever but if you get better all of a sudden you quickly forget that you were sick. That last area next to that lake is so so beautiful and clean. Would have been nice if there was a free camping spot next to that water to chill out and watch the sun set. Those roads also were really like new and good condition.

To combat the tiredness you feel from all the driving you do you really need to teach Rafiki to drive himself, and then you can have a sleep in the passenger seat while he keeps going! You have to admit the top of that truck looked like a big bed! There is some border issue of Rwanda with DRC. DRC is not that safe but in the whole Africa continent you will find people very cooperating. So if any one asks you from which country you belong then you may answer, say, coast of Normandy or Juan Les Pins etc. Please carry on your good work. It is appreciable.

I live in Rwanda and I can definitely contradict the lie that there was any riots in Rwanda. There's never been any riots in Rwanda since like 2008. And any person who's been in Rwanda would testify that Rwanda is the safest country in Africa especially for tourists. There must have been some type of misinformation but hey, the Rwanda you're talking about that is dangerous for French people does not exist. You are probably alluding to insecurities on the other side of the border (In DRC) but definitely not in Rwanda. Rwandans never riot as far as I know us.
