The problem with the G3, G5 and G6 is they are all high lift and that's no good for cutting Bermuda.

@@GwinnettLawns makes sense…and because you cut a lot of Bermuda you don’t want to use them and leave those flyers all over the lawn.

@@dang5553 he is running mulching blades but the Gator blades from Oregon use a different steel than the Ballards. I thought maybe they would stand up better to the abrasive soil conditions he deals with in his area.

@@dang5553 gator blades are high lift. These are not they may look similar, but they’re not the same.

Are the gold blades or the ripper blades better for running a mulching kit?

@@brenstonvanhouten3315 i’ve never run a mulching kit. We just use the discharge chute blockers. They’re both great blades. The gold hybrids have more suction power than the rippers do but the rippers last longer.

wow. must be cutting in sandy soil conditions. in my area we never cut below 3 inches.

No sand here its all clay but has lots of granite and silica dust particles and those are super hard and eat the blades slap up.

Have you tried the G6 Oregon blades. Not sure if they have any for the trimstar. It’s a commercial grade mower blade

I don’t like gator blades because they’re high lift. And yes I’ve tried them a lot I don’t like how they cut.

They are the best blades I have ever used. Combined with good technique and a chute blocker they are really reducing my mowing/blowing time.

@@GwinnettLawns I’ve used the high lift, the hybrid mulching blades, and I have used them together in the X blade set up! Gator blades & OEM have lasted much longer. Just not impressed by Ballard
