I think it's great that this guitar is finding a home in a whole new and different crop of guitarists. Y'all are very adept at mixing styles together to create new and interesting sounding music. This version of the Mustang seems to fit right in.

I just bought one and if anyone is thinking of buying 1 do it the neck is very nice and wide It's got some weight to it they are made in Mexico which I think is awesome Plays like a seventies American Mustang And the bridge is actually really nice because the trem system on the Mustang in my opinion isn't the greatest stays in tune for weeks

The Duo Sonic is most definitely an offset bodied guitar. It has an asymmetrical body shape

2 years late but i think he’s referring to the waist line. mustangs, jazzmasters, jaguars, and jazz basses have waist lines that don’t line up with each other perpendicular to the strings. the duo sonic, strat, and tele have their waist line perpendicular to the strings.

The only duo sonics that were ever offset were the Duo Sonic II models that were made from 65-67

I'm pretty sure the original was also a 24" scale, with a very limited number of 22.5" examples made at the very start. The Musicmaster and Duo-Sonic were 22.5" scale only at first, until 1964 when they offered a choice of either 22.5" (short) or 24" (then called medium) scales.

I just found this demo. Very cool ! One mistake though. As mentioned in another comment, the duo Sonic is definitely in the offset series.. Explanation from Reverb ; The Fender Duo-Sonic makes its triumphant return as part of the Offset Series, an affordable line of guitars based on the revered "student models" of the mid-1950s. ... Two single coil Duo-Sonic pickups deliver classic Fender tones, and the string-through hardtail design aids in producing great articulation and sustain. Anyways they’re both great guitars ! Can’t go wrong with either one.

Hmm I don't have much experience with this sort of mod. But you would need to do some substantial routing to fit in a trem block and springs in the back. Not sure on the options for top mounted vibrato systems other than bigsby...

You can get the Mustang P-90 in natural, too. P-90s have a bit more output and growl when playing with some dirt.

Hmmm, honestly yeah I probably do find myself tuning more than usual. But with the right set up this could be as stable as any other guitar. In fact I recently upgraded the nut and string tree, put some thicker strings on and its glorious. No tuning issues

More like a Duo-Sonic with that maple fretboard, but a very nice looking and sounding guitar, nonetheless. And, yes, the Duo-Sonic is an offset, since it shares the same asymmetrical body shape with that of the Mustang.

The only duo sonics that were ever actually offset were made between 65-67. A guitar is only considered offset due to the angle of the waistline. An asymmetrical body shape doesn’t make a guitar an offset
