I will probably never get that feeling I had on those fridays waiting for my dad to get home. Me and my brothers knew we were going to get two games and two movies at the local video store and we were going to McDonald's. I keep those memories forever.

I remember me and my dad beating Contra 3 together… Playing the Mario’s together… Trading up on Aliens Vs Predator… and more… And the Friday special dinner nights… These are great memories brother… Those are the type of things that no amount of money could replace

Friday night. The movie rental store parking lot is full. Everyone is getting movies and games. My mom parks the car and I go in. I'm transported to another dimension. Sometimes my mom would have to come get me because I would take too long. It was just me and my mom so money wasn't plentiful. I was choosing the $1.50 game 3 day 2 night rental and if I made a bad decision the weekend would suck. After I finally picked out my game we would go by Carter's Fried Chicken or Little Caesars. This was the only time we ate out for the whole week. It was a big deal. I'll never forget those weekends. NES, SNES, and Genesis. The memories of the games will live forever with me. I'm about to be 44 years old..

Used to rent Sunset Riders, Street Fighter 2 and NBA Jam: TE on rotation every weekend for a long time. In a small town, if you wanted to rent the better games on Friday after school you had to convince your mom to take you to the video store immediately after she picked you up.

My older sister worked at a mom n' pop video store in the late 80's/early 90's, and would bring me NES games home on Saturday and Sunday mornings, so, not only was I getting free rentals, but DELIVERY! She would always clue me in if something was for sale, too. What an underrated resource. I remember falling in love with Air Fortress and Burai Fighter as a result of those days.

I love the Bible Adventures story. I had these friends who weren't allowed to do anything unless it had "Bible" in it, and one thing they loaned me once was Exodus by the same company that made Bible Adventures. It's a craptastic game with a maddening soundtrack, but it was also oddly addictive and have memories playing it with friends and family watching. Finally got my own cart for $8 decades later. So the episode where you all got Chris his own Bible Adventures resonates with me. lol

None of my local game rental places had membership cards. We usually just gave a phone number and verified the last name. I remember a few times when I had a high late fee charge and I would just use a friend's account. The closest Blockbuster was over an hour away. I didn't rent at a Blockbuster until I went to college. I preferred the local game stores we had. Blockbuster was so much more expensive.
