I love the idea of opening a sealed classic in advanced age and just having a personal moment. I'm notorious among my friends for opening many of my sealed games on a rainy day and having fun with them, but I may just save a couple for a few years down the road.

Someone needs to make a cologne of new video game cartridge smell. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, I would always take in a deep whiff of that new video game smell when I brought a new game home. I still remember it to this day. I’d wear it with pride.

I had Flintsones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak when I was a kid. My little cousin gave me a bunch of NES games when I gave them a Sega CD after I got a Playstation. One of them was Flintstones. That being said...I gave them a Sega CD with both Lunar games, Popful Mail, and Time Gal...and now I absolutely regret both giving up those games and not knowing what happened to Flintstones. I think my dad threw it out after I left home.

A refreshing take on a collection video, the things that are most valuable to you. I really enjoyed this Top 5! Since you asked, I'll share two of mine. I have a sticker-sealed SMB3 that I found at a thrift store about 10 years back, the store employees tampered with it but nevertheless still sealed. I still picked it up because SMB3 is one of my favourite games of all-time and I can't wait for the day when I open that box up and play that copy for the first time. The other is this drawstring bag my fiancee made for me. It's embroidered with the logo of another favourite of mine, an obscure NES game "The Adventures of Rad Gravity". I can't imagine any official merch ever being made for that game, so it's cool to have something from it that I can display.

I absolutely LOVE these videos of your collection, ITS EPIC. On a previous video of your Game Room you showed us a Paramount display with a Star Trek sign in it. I was in love and needed one as I am trying to re-create a Video Rental store feel as part of my Game Room. Needless to say I found 2 one similar to yours that I now have holding a Beverly Hills Cop sign, and another older model Paramount display sign now holding "The Naked Gun, From The FIles Of Police Squad". Had to thank you for the idea. A tip for you if you have not done it yet, these displays hold 2 40w bulbs that I replaced with 2 LED 40w daylight bulbs, they use less electricity do not get hot, and the signs light up 100% better. Love the video, hope for more. Cant wait for Corona to be over so I can come to a Retropalooza to meet you and Jay want a photo with you guys to put in my Game Room. Oh they Kay Bee Shelve is amazing, the Super Mario 3 Mcdonalds display OMG no words 😍 Thanks Again!!!

Nice topic for a video, great top 5! Dunno what my other 4 are, but my #1 has got to be my childhood nes. It's the only console that I kept through all the years. My mom worked a retail job, supporting my brother and I by herself. We had rented an nes a couple times and I had absolutely fallen in love with it. Because we were not well off, I never expected to ever have my own. I was so surprised the day she came in the door and couldn't even wait to show me what she got me for my 8th bday. An action set. It's all yellow and I threw out the box 20 years ago, but the thing works like a tank and I love it.

So happy to see the Atari ST getting some love. It's a super important part of my childhood, and like you, my Dad used it a lot for flight simulators, particularly Flight Simulator II that you show there and the military flight sims like Falcon and MicroProse's stuff. He also used it a lot for MIDI music making up until very recently -- it actually took quite a while for MIDI on the PC to catch up to the ST to a degree that he was satisfied leaving behind old faithful pieces of software like Steinberg Pro-24, early versions of Cubase and Notator (now Logic)! The Amiga may have been technologically superior for many games (particularly anything involving scrolling and sprites etc) but the Atari ST was no slouch -- and it was an incredibly distinctive piece of kit. And as I, my Dad and my brother all wrote for an Atari magazine here in the UK back when it was current, it will always be an incredibly important, nostalgic part of my collection that I still love playing with today. Indeed, it makes up a goodly proportion of my own KZbin channel!

One of my favorite games in my collection is street fighter 2 turbo. Not a rare or valueable game by any means, but this is one of the earliest video game memories I have of the 16-bit era. I remember going to a toy store and they had a street fighter arcade cabinet. I immediatly fell in love with the graphics and gameplay as an 9 year old kid. Later I got a snes for christmas and not much later was my b-day. I went to the store and forgot the name of the game I played on the arcade... So I checked every box art and checked the back of the box to see the gameplay.. and finally found street fighter 2 turbo. Good memories!

I have a soft spot for A link to the past as well. I used to have dreams about that game. I had to look up the release date because I had to wait until Christmas to get it and the super nintendo and link to the past released early in 92. So it was a long wait as a kid. Anyways a few years ago I picked up a near mint complete in box copy where the original owner had took a razor blade and cut a flap to get the game out from the outside wrapper. The smell you are talking about is still there.

For some reason this video never appeared in my sub list. Oh well, youtube is...youtube. Great video man, I felt nostalgic just by watching it and I felt like giving you a hug. I don't know, weird. I have some top items in my game collection, I won't get into details because...I have no idea. They are two portable game systems, one is a game & watch and one is a third party one, lcd screen and all. Both from the 80s. The rest are a couple of early mid 90s PC games. Also a couple of Atari ST games (ST being the first computer I ever bought back in 1987). One of those games I looked for (a legit copy) over 30 years to find and only a couple of years ago I managed to find a copy. That is over 30 years of looking in stores, private listings, ebay, etc.. Not many people know the game, those who do tend to love it. As with the other items it is not something that would sell for much (rarity doesn't mean people are willing to pay much for it). But even if it was expensive, I just don't see me selling it ever. Well, perhaps for a billion euros/dollars. Not less than that though. 30 PLUS YEARS. NOT A SINGLE LISTING/sighting. Anyway, thanks for the video. Happy gaming.

It's not something I "need" by any means, and I certainly don't collect or even look to collect such things. BUT, having said all that, if someone gave me a sealed/unopened copy of MY favorite game of all time (Super Mario Bros 3), I would be pretty damn stoked about that. So I can see why you value that so much man. Good times. Also, the McDonald's shit is pretty great too. I never got all of the toys either, even though I badly wanted them. Only ever got Luigi and Koopa-Paratroopa. Still have those in fact, a couple of the few things I ever managed to keep from childhood. I'll never NOT wish I had gotten Goomba and Mario though.
