Been here with you since the beginning and I love your content! I oddly think I’ve saved money since switching to medical grade! I used to have a horrible habit of buying “more affordable” skincare product after product until I had a stash of all these potions that didn’t help my skin at all! Another amazing aspect about medical grade is that truly a little bit goes a long way! 🧘♀️💕 congrats on almost 5k!!!

I completely agree with you on your statement about 'saving money with medical-grade skin care'. A person uses much less of the 'medical grade' product and, therefore the product lasts longer. Further, the testing and research that medical-grade skin care undergoes is much more reliable and reproducible than other 'clinically approved' products. What does clinically approved even mean? What clinic? Who's clinic? The bottom line is that peer-reviewed research is expensive and the production of active ingredients in skin care products that are actually able to be absorbed into the skin is expensive. Thank you, Dr. for another informative and science-based explanation of skin care!

I started ZO last November. I've felt like I'm outcasted by society when I read/hear all the negativity surrounding medical-grade skincare i.e. doesn't work, just a marketing scheme, you're wasting your money, better or just as effective drugstore products etc...the comments are endless. Thank you for explaining in such simple terms❤

Your channel recently popped in my You Tube. i looking for a good skin regimen ( I had been using department store products, but not happy with how my skin feels and looks ) I saw and esthetician who recommended some of the products ( Skin Better) you recommend. I was feeling anti hesitant about the $ but I now understand that research and formulation are behind these products. Thank you for this video and for my skin, I will shoot for the Ferrari! 😊

I believe I save $ with pharmaceutical skincare... it is a great investmen!. Medical-grade products are generally concentrated and very little is needed. I use mists with Osmosis MD serums and it goes a long way. I trust the ingredients, formulations and results!

I agree with your analogies of formulations and ingredient list of product lines. My dermatologist recommended Skin Better Science and I started it a few months ago. So far, so good! Can you comment on the efficacy of at home lasers such as NIRA ? It has FDA approval for safety, but I no nothing of the results. I’ve seen all the other channels mentioned, and I’m so happy to have found yours! Have subscribed- looking forward to seeing all of your videos. Thanks!

I use cerave for most things but zo has some products that are just great and I love...the daily power defense, I can't find a good dupe that even comes close to how much I like it...however for a cleanser, the cerave cream to foam is my favorite... I think if you go all in on medical grade just for the sake of it, then that's not worth the money, but yiu definitely can pick some irreplaceable products up from the medical.grade companies

Dr. Ania love your knowledge and presentation. Could you please address how to deal with creepy skin on the neck. Should I laser if yes, which one? I know that creams are not doing a thing - tried for the past 20 years, I am not ready to face/neck lift yet but want something that would make difference. Also, retinol is not tolerated on my neck, neither is Vitamin C, so I use rosehip oil. Thank you
@theocbeautymd Жыл бұрын
Microneedling is one of my favorites. Another suggestion is to take a rice grain (or even half a rice grain) amount of retinol, mix with your neck cream and apply. Get your skin adapted to retinol very slowly from a tiny amount. See if it tolerates it.

Enjoyed the video , I have experimented with medical grade for years and have tried many brands . I think so much depends on each individual ‘s skin , I have tried alastin … twice , it did nothing for me , I’ve used skin medica , osmosis , and many others with no real change. What did change my skin was the original obagi Nu derm .. not even the hydroquinone … the fx version , nothing has ever changed my skin the way it did mixed with my tretinoin , I know you think it’s old school but I think it works as well tiday as it did 20 years ago at least for me . I tried so many of the “ new technology “ products and they just don’t work for me. They either irritate or do nothing so I think it depends on so many things . I’ve used tret for 20 years and when I added obagi it took me to another level altogether , I did just order the ZO exfoliating pads. I enjoy your videos very much.
@theocbeautymd Жыл бұрын
I do agree that all skins respond differently. If they didn't, we would only need one brand, right! The key is finding the right products for you and I think it's crucial to get a good skin diagnosis and eval because sometimes people don't understand their diagnosis and are actually attempting to treat the wrong diagnosis or going about it the wrong way. For example, some people say hydroquinone did not work for them, but the question becomes, how oily are they? Oil prevents HQ absorption - just an example. I'm really happy that you have found product combinations that your skin loves!!! 🌸

Great video, I just found you and subscribed! I have been using Defenage for 3-4 years. I am happy with it, simple face regiment of two products, plus I use sunscreen religiously. I do keep my expectation in check so, in all honesty, I have no idea if it is working but I do receive lots of compliments on my skin ( mid 50s, but I have done also RF and micro needling). However, I do not see anybody talking about Defenage. Have you even look into this line and do you have an opinion with regards these alpha and beta defensins?

I buy so called “medical-grade, professional” not because of the name of the market segment, but because most of the time they do the best product in each category. It is expensive skin care and somehow people can not get over it. I wonder if they also call people who live in more expensive houses, driving more expensive cars idiots. Maybe it is some self-protection mechanism to feel better. Anyway, this skin care segment is growing and obviously thriving, so who cares what they say.
@theocbeautymd Жыл бұрын
that's an interesting observation. I think it's also reverse marketing. The drugstore stuff has to promote itself somehow so they criticize the quality expensive stuff to keep their consumers.

What are your thoughts on Paula's choice?
@sballantine8127 Жыл бұрын
I started following Paula Begoun back in the 80s when she had a column in the New York Daily News. And started using her products when she first began to come out with him because I trusted her and I knew that she had done research on everything that she put in there and had a very high degree of integrity. Not to mention the fact that they were very reasonably priced, especially for the high-quality. Now she's been bought out by some big company, and I'm happy for her that she got a big payday from it, but the prices have skyrocketed so I don't buy that much anymore. Having said that, they are bringing out more sophisticated and well packaged products, and maybe they are very high-quality, who knows? I wonder if they're making the kind of money they hoped to because they knew that people trusted her so much.

always buy from an office or the ZO website. You can chooses a provider on the ZO website if you want to show your support. Never buy from any other store. ZO doesn't allow it so you don't know if its counterfeit or the real thing.
