See that's making a mistake a lot good horror films will have the actor who plays the villain stay away from the rest of the crew completely. You want the actors to only associate with the monster/villain when there in Character. Especially with Child actors u will get a way better scene if they are legitimately frightened. But a lot of parents don't want there children actually being frightened. But Method actors are great for horror roles where there the villain

Plot twist: It's all in the kid's imagination. I have a theory, the child is abused by her mom. Because she's so little, she thinks of her mom as a monster.
