One person had lost his son who was a chef, another was in the hotel and escaped like the person in the video - he broke the window and was rescued by the fire brigade. He then went out straight to the hospital to donate blood to the injured. Finally a month later, he was part of the people involved in reopening the hotel. He spoke of scraping blood stains off the floor using knives as they opened the hotel.

26/11, this dark moment in India's history is so real for me. I was a student at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai -- one of the locations of the attack. I remember when the news broke at prime time across TV channels -- that terroritsts had percolated Mumbai's most prime locations and were brazenly shooting anyone in their way. I remember watching the CCTV footage of two of the terrorists at the Victoria Terminus Station, from where I'd taken my train home a mere 2 hours ago. I remember watching them move around Metro Theater, Madam Cama Hospital and my college campus -- killing as they went. I remember going back to college a few days later once security had been tightened around the city and classes had resumed (insert "Mumbai Does Not Stop" cliched line), hugging my friends so tight, and us seeing bulletholes where Officer Hemant Karkare was shot. I remember the silence of that day. I remember visiting Leopold Cafe and seeing holes in the walls made by terrorists' bullets. I remembering being glued to the TV for 3 days, feeling helpless and desolate that I couldn't do anything for innocent lives being taken, and reeling from the fact that it was sheer luck that my life was safe. I hope we never see another day like that. More power to Will for his bravery and for sharing his story.

I wish you and your daughter well. But absolutely, grief isn't always about what we have lost in the literal sense, it can be about the loss of possibilities, what we dream/dreamt of. Perhaps ironically, grief/loss is as much about the future as it is about the past or present. It is often missed, so glad you were able grieve for your daughter. As painful as it is face that reality I feel it brings a kind of peace/healing and also acceptance. When we have acceptance we connect with what we have [or who...is] in front of us. Not what we wished, expected or hoped for, but what we actually have... best❤

Europe has been real quiet now since the refugees came to their countries & mind you it’s just 5-10% of its population while in India it’s 20% and is surrounded by countries with 100% of that population. Just imagine what India goes through. Europe doesn’t talk about human rights anymore after experiencing what India has been experiencing for centuries, while the US which is geographically blessed thinks of itself as the ‘human rights warrior’. Even at an age of 10 or 11... I somehow could fathom the loss of the nsg commandos my nation had that day... i dunno why but that was the most sorrowful thing for me out of that... I'm a more resource valuing person rather than people, and commandos are great assets to a nation.

What's wrong with islam??
@rohand047 күн бұрын
Every thing.. Islam is said to bind people together. This is only a half-truth. For Islam divides as inexorably as it binds. Islam is a close corporation and the distinction that it makes between Muslims and non-Muslims is a very real, very positive and very alienating distinction. The brotherhood of Islam is not the universal brotherhood of man. It is a brotherhood of Muslims for Muslims only. There is a fraternity, but its benefit is confined to those within that corporation. For those who are outside the corporation, there is nothing but contempt and enmity,” BR Ambedkar

@@rohand04and thats not even brotherhood, it will only stay as it is until there would be any non muslim os there, once all will become muslim, who would they fight? I ma pretty sure to each other
