Also, Al-Quida along with ISIS, and other terrorist organizations, believe any person that is American, or helps an American in anyway, is complicit with the atrocities that America does, therefor in their eyes, they aren’t innocent civilians, but actually a reason that those atrocities against their kind are committed.

This is an amazing interview. It's stories like these that help us understand the world, beyond ideologies and discourse of demagogues. Our assumptions are rarely correct. We are all influenced by our culture, surroundings, and experiences to the point that it's hard to keep track of our own biases. I appreciate channels like this that show us broadening perspectives. In the end, we realize that we are all people prone to making mistakes that lead to devastating consequences. We cannot judge someone based on just one metric; we are all characterized by incredibly complex sets of attributes, some of which are dark, sure, but the sum of which is always nuanced.

@@elisamorris7742 Yeah, it is crazy that USA supports various regimes that are the very opposite of democracy, and they even often fund insurgents that want to overthrow a government that gives people more liberties than the insurgents would. The goal is not the betterment of people in the countries, but preserving the USA interests there. Which is why I don't like USA much, even though I am an European. This shit is what gives the Islamists new recruits, this is also why Iran is an islamic republic rather than a constitutional monarchy now. And more often than not, the very insurgents USA funded turn against them. I wouldn't blame it on most of the USA citizens though. Their acceptance of wars varies, they can basically only choose between two parties (at least, none other had a president in last 150 years) and they are often indoctrinated to see some country and its people as enemies, even though that "sworn enemy" is on the opposite side of the globe. Iran is considered the enemy #1 now, where Saudi Arabia (which is where Osama bin Laden came from, among others), is a friend and ally.
