I love sloths! They are absolutely adorable! But these encounters - although "cute" - are highly unethical. Sloths do not like to be touched by humans and sloths in these petting zoos that are handled all day long by an endless parade of tourists are having their stress hormones sent through the roof by these encounters.

Seeing this pisses me off. This isn't "cute." These poor animals are stolen from the trees they live in, because everyone knows how cute sloths are. Seems harmless right? It's not. These poor animals die within days because they must eat a special diet. These profiteers just toss the body and get a new one. Reading these comments, I'm blown away at how willfully ignorant people are.
