Gavin. I love you. You seem to be a uniquely lovable, but most definitely, a seruos man. At one level, your're a first-rank gooball. I just watched Heaton, and then Adam. To be sure, they are both consistently brilliant. None of them, however, or any of others of yoir ability deliver a ... that I-need-to-watch--Gavin's episode feeling. You entertain. (Duh!). You manage a "show" so very much worth watching, just because you do it so very, very well. Most importantly, for SURE - what you deliver for us here weekly is wonderfully pertinent. Really? It's just wonderful. .... and at the end of any of them? Gavin, you teach. You have a gift. Fun and goofy, but never without serious, teachable substance. Props. Major ones to you, and those you love. They all brighten the lives of your fans. You brighten mine.

Hey Gavin: Always look forward to your videos. you guys make me laugh! A little advise on your camping gear. Your sleeping bag and tent is way to big for backpacking. Get a down bad that is lighter and compresses down to half the size of the one shown. get a 2 person tent with 2 - vestibules. lighter and much smaller than you have shown. Also your platypus water filter in my opinion takes up to much space and is time consuming in the backcountry. can't think of one I use, but research the filter that attaches to your 1 litter water bottle. Just fill water bottle with any water source and drink. No waiting and much less to carry. With all the camera gear you have to bring, it's important to carry less weight in your pack.

I definitely enjoy your videos. Not only do you bring a lot of talent in the craft, you bring humor and a bit of fun as well. Amanda and Brent are great to have in your videos...Amanda for your humorous interactions (plus she's great to look at and watch) and Brent for the humor but mostly for his photographic expertise as well. I truly enjoy going to your area of the world, and thoroughly enjoy the videos taken on Vancouver Island or on the mainland side relatively near Vancouver, as well as in Yoho - Banff - Jasper National Parks. Keep up the great work.

Whistles are also good to take for two reasons. 1) They scare bears... 2) Better than shouting for help three sharp blows (pardon the pun) on the whistle is better and easier on the throat / voice cords...
@fototripper4 жыл бұрын
Or do they attract the bears?
@peterknight98734 жыл бұрын
If you want a really good way to scare bears.. Have an air horn... Failing that ensure you have a good pair of trainers to out run the person you are with... Natures rule "Survival of the fittest..",... Heheee
@fototripper4 жыл бұрын
@@peterknight9873 I hear it has the opposite effect and sparks the curiosity of bears. Where I live, bears clearly care nothing for car horns and the noise of humans. It doesn't deter them.
@peterknight98734 жыл бұрын
@@fototripper Interesting dilemma.. I also read that when the pepper spray dries it attracts more bears.. So it's true make sure you can run faster than the person you are with... In regards to the whistle I was informed the whistle should sound at greater than 120db. Car horns are usually around 109 and 110 db.. Maybe the internet has too much information and confuses.. The simplest is good running shoes to run faster than the person you are with is the safest..heheee.. Great videos and very entertaining... Keep it going..

I started dehydrating my own backpacking food many years ago. So much better tasting and healthier ( salt to your personal taste ) than that store bought crap. On a side note, that crapper would take some getting used to, especially if a stranger came along and sat down beside you. Wonder what the icebreaking conversation would sound like ?

Spielberg must be eating his heart out. Have you tried lighter hiking boots/shoes? I've been using Altra shoes for my day hikes for the last 6 months, love them. That is amazingly beautiful country and if that's a test shot then there are some really amazing photos to come. Isn't there a back country lodge in Tonquin Valley that Adam goes to? That place where you can ride a horse to the lodge, sleep in a real bed and probably get mac & cheese with no corn. If you don't want to ride maybe you can just have the horse carry your pack. It's something to be considered for next time. I'm sure Amanda would be on board.
