Absolutely a good decision. Having a coach makes a difference!

Absolutely agree. I believe I'm already seeing some good improvement in my run/bikes! Also, not having to come up with swim workouts is more than worth it haha

Oh, it does! Don't need to think about anything, just show up and put in the work.

Love the videos buddy, I’m thinking of signing up for Ironman Ottawa next year. I’ve done a few marathons, but I want this ultimate challenge. All these tips have been unreal. How long do you recommend to start training, 12 months? Would you have started with this coach from the beginning? Also, where are you getting in your swims?

That's awesome! I just saw Ottawa launch their Ironman as well. Been talking about it with a few people, but don't think I'll do that one. That's really great to hear, glad it's been helpful! Honestly, depends on your goals and starting point. I believe 12 months is more than enough time. I'm about 8 months in, but 4 of those months I was injured, so I would say only 4-5 months of good workouts. Personally, I don't think I would have started right away with it because I was so new to swimming and still learning how to swim properly. Once I got the hang of it better, then I may have. I just really like the structure and how seamless everything is. I do want to perform really well, so I think having a coach for me aligns with my goals. I'm swimming at a local pool (called The Atlas Tube Centre), but hoping the water warms up so I can start getting open water swims in.

Thanks! Yeah, I’m just getting everything sorted before I jump into it. Those stroke development classes, was that through a local recreation centre? Goodluck on this final couple months. I’ll be following you through until you get that medal in lake placid.

@@jeremykolodziej2472 Fair enough, you could slowly start building momentum now so you aren't starting from zero when you do actually "start". Yes, that was through a local class here. While I was in Tucson, I joined a class with a bunch of pros which helped me a lot. You could try to find a masters program near you once you get to that point. I appreciate the support and hope I can perform well!
