A little thing on the engine mounts, try to use some nylock nuts.. It will help and hold out much better ! Keep pushing out the mad content Sam !

Also thought the same. Nylock nuts, threadlock, wired nuts etc. When the engine rocks under torque and that mount is compressed you'll loose all torque on that mount stud and it'll back off.

@samit look at NordLock washers they have to get tighter before they undo. Also a set of nylock nuts will help… love the little drift car we need a build series lol

You should get some Nordlock washers for any bolts you really don't want coming loose. They're like lock washers, but better. You put a pair under the head and they have a profile that bites into the surfaces and they lock together. I use them on turbo bolts.

They have square washers that electricians or plumbers use. They are like an 1.5 inch × 1.5 inch × 3/8 inch thick. Pretty cheap.

Its true that it doesn't fully seem real till the baby is born. Then it's a huge wave of emotions seeing them for the first time. Im a big bloke and show little emotion about things but i cried like a baby seeing my daughter when she came out. Best day of my life and i will never forget it. Also i recommend using nyloc nuts for the engine mounts. Spring washers are supposed to do the same thing but i always use nyloc whenever i can as they just seem to work better. Vibration is what causes them to come loose but once the nut is free from the spring washer nothing is stopping it from coming off. Nyloc wont do that as the nylon will hold onto the thread till the nut is completely off. I doubt they engine mounts will get hot enough to melt the nylon, especially on that end of the mount.

When I raced go karts, we had to safety wire all nuts & bolts, get a aircraft safety wire spinner and go to town. I bet tekton sells them

Drill a hole threw the bolt in the engine mount so you can put a cotter pin below the nut it will stop it from ever backing out and falling off again.

Those flange nuts for your engine mounts are serrated flange lock nuts that do not use washers underneath the nut they are designed to bite into the metal they tighten against:) also they make crushed lock nut flange nuts that will not back off:)

May has a nice big baby belly! Good to hear the baby is fine! Also Sam the nuts on the mount are just flanged I noticed. Paused the video to write this asap. So not sure if you solved it already. Also i'm not sure how the availability is one nuts there, but I tight down nuts with a seal ring in them at my work which require less NM's (e.g. 40NM's) then a mount probably needs. You know the one, with the blue line inside the nut, Granted I do work on trucks, but it does show with a certain number or part a flanged bolt ain't really the way to go in my opinion on a mount. These are more recommended and not likely to shake/vibrate loose in comparison to just a flanged bolt, due to the fact the ring keep the nut in place. Hope this helps and comes to your attention. 🙂

Sam - Please double nut those engine bolts as they are loosening due to the bushing movement. can also do nylocks but double nut is better. Also love the explosion starts =)

Sam, you need to look at Nordlock lock washers for your motor mounts. They are a two piece design and the harder they try to loosen up the tighter they get. They aren’t cheap but they solve a lot of issues.

Sam, when you have problems like that one, use another nut and counter lock it. Its not a solution but it help for some time and you will not loose nuts n bolts ^^

Aircraft safety wire. My grandfather served in the RCAF as a mechanic and flight engineer. Every bolt gets drilled, countersunk and safety wired on all competition vehicles. Never lost a nut or washer, even when the nylon melts and the lock-tite peace’s out…

Most race car competitions require safety wire in case of loose fasteners etc. causing a hazard on the track, I'm not sure why it's not required for drifting

Invest in some Torque Seal for your nuts & bolts, then you can visibly see if any have come loose

I'd have at minimum run a nylock nut on those engine mount bolts. Otherwise run a bolt with a hole through the threads you can run a pin through that'll retain the nut even if it does back off

Regarding the motor mounts. If the problem should still persist after your tweaks, i would suggest some Loctite 243.
