The Tony-winning star of Broadway's Violet knew she "nailed it" with her Velcro shoes.
When auditioning in front of Annie creator Martin Charnin for the show's 20th-anniversary production, two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster really took that musical's rags-to-riches element to heart. That is, even though she arrived looking a mess (in Velcro shoes and with no headshot), Foster walked out of the audition room with a part in a Broadway musical. It just goes to show that the shoes make the woman...a big-time star.
