Havnt got my taters slips or strawberry plants yet. They say theyl send them later. Have had days of hi lacious wind here, then totally still. Got a good rain last night and today. Macys laid me off 2 weeks ago Thurs, and I think ill set out the winter here

I know nothing of a 1922 Fordson f .I take that back, While I know 1 thing. That Fordson is a different company that ford tractors are. They got to keep the name because I think they started a tractor Co. just before Henry did. and The guys name is the same or something like that. Glad to hear you have a cool old tractor> I always think of the green acres show . I look forward to your tractor and garden and assorted subjects you go to the hassle of videoing. I still thk you for turning me on to the MM ZAU or ZBU or what ever one you have. I finally seen some come up for saleI guess it's like a car . You don't see others until you own that particular model yourself. their was one "Z", needed paint engine locked and all 4tires bad$500 or another looked good all the way around, just didn't run at the time $1500. So there out there. Probably because it's Spring.I guess it means you should always have money for collector tractors saved up. & truck & trl ready to go! LOL
@OzziesOddities
@OzziesOddities Жыл бұрын
Sorry it's been some time, but thanks for the kind note. Most of the tractors I've bought myself aren't usually running but I love it when the engine is free. Some times if you're just using them to tool around, you won't even have to go inside the engine at all. It's hard to find MM for $500 though isn't it? I don't like pulling with the old ford so I really don't have a truck and trailer handy. That's probably good because otherwise I'd be bringing home all kinds of junk.

Missed the notification on this video! I myself am have tractor issues over the winter. 8n distributor is wore out. Next to fix. And it appears to be a bad cam lobe on the jubilee. Just my luck. Guess my rule of 2 failed me. I guess I better get more tractors.
@OzziesOddities
@OzziesOddities Жыл бұрын
Haha, the only absolute in old tractors is law of perpetual repair. After you work on those Fords for a couple decades, you'll know them like an old friend, and they'll be much easier to fix. The JDs and the Molines have been with me long enough now that I know they're going to get moody but they're not intimidating to work on. The Fordson, and the Hart Parr and even the Ferguson are still exotic to me. We just don't know each other quite well enough yet. It's a good thing youtube is out there to give us a big head start.

U said that farmers where happy once it came available due to its low price. I think it was more like the Happy Farmer Tractor. Farmers thought they were happy when they bought it, and knew they were happy when they got shed of it lol

Hope you had a good season. We got a garden in and tomatoes did pretty good here. Extremely dry for us this year but there were still some bright spots. How'd your potatos do? Ours are looking pretty good. Digging soon.

@OzziesOddities potatoes did well ,green beans did fair. Was really wet early,then we've been extremely dry. Around us has had more rain. But summer garden is finished. Time for turnips,beets, and radishes. It's almost like fall weather right now. We'll take that for the rest of the year. Lol

Ran across some more Fordson videos by Dug in Virginia. 1924&1926. One is on the battery box. Not sure if there close to what your tractor is. You may have already seen them. Have a great day Ozzie and family!

I’m sure you have already tried, but make sure first by using a tester that the mag is making spark when it is supposed to when you are turning it over. I had to turn the mag 90degrees on little hired man, of my father-in-laws, that I got running. Loving your stuff!!

May be like my B Farmall. U check the mag? Coil/condenser, and points may be bad. My adopted grandpa across the road from us, ( looked just like my dad). Go figger lol. Anyway, once he told my bro and me, that as a kid he went to work for this rich big farmer who had already a few hired hands. They all took the horse/mule teams, leaving grandpa Adolph the Fordson. He said all the hired hands laughed at him from the onset, and he soon found out why. After he had been going awhile the heat generated up out of the rear end and into the seat of it, and then into his seat. That and constantly having to replenish the radiator of water. He only drove it that once, He said he went out west once to harvest wheat. They put him on a header that steered from the rear by a tiller the driver kept between his legs. Said it like to beat his knees to pieces lol

Some of this old stuff sure presented it's own problems to the operator that's a good point. If I ever get it going I'll let you know how it drives, and maybe I'll know what your Grandpa cross the road was talking about.

IF I rememvber right, that black box is the coil box. Dont know whats all in it, But its known somehow to collect dirt and muc and that would put it outa commission. Ive heard where farmers wrapped a rope around the pulley, to a horse, and somehow the rope got caught in something and ripped the harness off the horse lol

I just saw that one! Boy did that young fella make it look easy. I might have to watch it again but I saw the battery there on the chair, but I'm still night quite sure how he rigged it up to spark. Thanks for catching that. Maybe another look and it'll come together in my mind.

Ive got both those wrenches, but the adjustable one has a RR logo on the handle and the other one is for taking the hub caps of grandads CC Case. I keep the adjustable wrench on the H with the hole in the handle going around the PTO rod. Turned right it lays perfectly on the floor board. Turned wrong, it dosent. I had to open the ring on the PTO handle a tiny bit to accept the hole in the wrench

Maybe a bit early since I am ahead of premier..... I had a tiny bit of rust bridge a gap via a rivit on the phoenolic board in a distributor that kicked my tail for months! I finally disected the distributor and flipped the points mounting board over..... 🤦‍♂️
